Dumb question but at same time all I want to do is take some data I have backed up year ago in dvdr and drag to my desktop. I rather not buy some $40 dvd drive, wait a week to get out and about if some program out there simulates dvdrom from cdrom. Iffy I know but dont follow that stuff much, could be possible.

Thanks for negative jaded typical GAF replies. How anyone comes here often and is not suidical is abit of mystery to me :lol
Not like asking to stuff 3.5 into cdrom. I seen few virtual cd programs out there and since dont follow it could been possible perhaps to at least read dvdr in some unorthadox way

Don't CDs and DVDs use different lasers? I mean, even if you didn't know that, you should at least assume that since you have to buy a DVD-ROM drive to play DVDs, that a CD-ROM drive won't play DVDs.
