[AppleTV] Widow's Bay - New Horror Show

Eh, has the feel of a show that is 95% tepid melodrama and lots of looooooong slow shots of people slowly chewing, with 2 minutes of batshit crazy at the end of each episode.

Happy to be wrong though.

My thoughts so far is that this is a good show. I'm not a fan of Patricia, some of the stuff she says just kind of annoys me but other than that the show itself is really good. There's some interesting lore and I'm looking forward to watching more of the show as it airs

Yeah same. The episodes were slow, but in a good sense. Setting things up I suppose.
 
Ep 2 was great, feels very Stephen King.

Too focused on the mayor though, as if he is the only one doubting the island.

But I love folky horror like this, just hope it keeps up the pace and the scares.

Great show the last two episodes are amazing. There are certain parts especially during Episode 5 that had me dying with laughter. Both episodes ended on some creepy shit is all I'm saying since you said you only watched through Episode 2

Out of the currently airing shows, it's my favorite so far and I'm happy next week we are getting two episodes

Episode 5 was funny.
 
Watched and absolutely loved the first episode so that was enough for me to nope out and await them all so I can binge the heap, the comedy is just the right amount of perfect and couple in that old school carpenter The Fog scenario... Yeah I'm all in, now where's my show set on an Antarctic Ice Station fs
 
ep4 with patricias cocktail party is EXACTLY the kind of horror I love. You see the stress and anxiety build and build, and you KNOW something is going wrong. Then the end comes and its sooooooooooooooooooooo much worse :P

The last scene was super creepy The whole Wicker Man burning with lot of people walking towards the lake with their mouth open was freaky as hell

I was curious what was gonna to happen due her using that shady looking book. I was wondering if there was going to be some type of glamour spell. Where when it shows the people at her party that in reality they are all dead



If you pay attention to this scene, there's a second or two of something that shows up

Thats a great catch, missed it first time, but that was a GENIUS ediitng move.

Also, what did the sheriff catch on the camera? Just her sitting there for hours and hours or could he see something else? The creepy necronomicon book?

and also, from ep3 sucks the mayor lost out with the batchelorette chick, she was hot I TOTALLY thought it was the hag in disguise

I missed that part but I do want to rewatch it. BTW we are getting two episodes next week

About Episode 3 I did feel bad for him, don't like Patricia at all but I think that's the point of her character. And yeah I also thought that lady he was trying to get with was totally hot but the Hag in disguise

Patricia is TOTALLY the "freak betwix the sheets" type of girl :P

Just watched the pilot episode .. really loving the small details and small jokes reminded me of Arrested Development. When he was going through his "Wolves" calender and on one month it randomly had a car crash as a picture lol

Sounds like the consensus is this is worth checking out?

From was the biggest unexpected pleasure for me of the last few years, funnily enough for someone who never cared much for horror. I'll make sure to get around to this once the season wraps up.

So far it is NAILING it. I feel like Matthew Rhys is like 10 years too old for the character, and its odd that on this small island there are folks people like the sheriff and mayor do not know, but it is what it is.

I can't watch this show with my wife, as you CAN NOT doomscroll through it, you will miss every subtle moment.

This may be the True Detective (s1) of apple if it can stick the landing, though totally it is quite different.

And of course no Alexandra Daddario moment :p

I'm a huge fan of horror and this show is amazing. I hope the quality is consistent throughout. From is another great show and that's because unlike their previous show, this time they actually had the whole story written out. The fifth season is gonna to be the final season of that show

So fir DECADES these folks have been milling around and they don't know who the drug dealer is on sight?

Anyway, common small town trope, not really an issue.

Have you noticed that the house that Evan was dared to go into to impress the tourist girls looks extremely similar to his own house. Especially the door. And I found it interesting with the last scene how Tom is having that trip in the bathroom and is telling "God" to protect his son at it starts focusing on the open bathroom door where you can't see anything in it. It's complete pitch black and than there's the creepy chanting

The part where Tom friend who is a cop catches his son and than Tom is notified. When he goes over to where Evan is which is back inside his friend's car, what made me dying with laugther was the way he just put his face against Tom friend's car windows to see if that his son in there. This show is surprinsingly humorous and I'm surprised Matthew Rhys can pull off comedic timing like that. Really talented actor and that guy has range

This show is really good just due to have actual funny moments like that mixed in with some very creepy moments



Next week we are getting two episodes
