whered you get this list? is there a city in Missouri really called Missouri? is that nov 30 show correct?

I got it from Merge Records' website. I didn't notice that until now, I'm guessing it's Kansas City.

I'm going to see them in Iowa City on November 23rd. I'm in a friend's wedding in Wisonsin on the 20th and I had planned to stop in Cedar Rapids, IA to visit some friends while I was up there (I live in TN) so...

Only 6 freakin' bucks to see them too.

I gotta check this band out. Are they mega-depressing?

Montreal's Arcade Fire brings a theatricality, an intensity, an insanity, and a penchant for amazing hooks to their debut full-length. You've never heard such energy, beauty, and emotion from such a young band. Fans of Neutral Milk Hotel, Broken Social Scene, and Roxy Music's first two albums will have a new favorite band.

Sweet...

They don't sound depressing, but some of their lyrics sure are.

The album is called Funeral since many relatives of band members died while recording it. Hell, the booklet looks like a funeral program.

ha, how'd they manage to all die around the same time??

Old age, cancer, etc. I don't know.

Funeral is a great record, it's pretty cheap at most independent shops, I got it for $8 on release day (early September), so you should be able to find it for less than $10.

I went to the show last night at the Bowery Ballroom and I was blown away at how good they were live. I was lukewarm on the album at first and warmed up to it, but this band is so meant to be experienced live. Lots of instrument switching, unbelievable energy, very fun and invigorating. At times they came off like a marching band at the end of the world. Lovely and so fucking fantastic. Don't miss them if they come to your town!
