serious question: are they not able to optimize ARK? Do they lack manpower? Expertise? What's the reason?

It doesn't make a lot of sense to do serious optimization work while the game is still in development.

The game is designed to never come out of Early Access. If it will, it's because the team has declared the thing dead and is already hyping something else.

Secondly, they aren't able to do any serious optimization.

I will applaud them if they ever deliver, but i know better than believe in these pie in the sky scenarios.

See the date? They kept saying DX12 was releasing "next week" for a few months. Then their director admitted in a reddit post they don't have enough engineers who know how to code DX12 and so it wasn't even close to be finished and suggested not to expect it soon.

The same about "serious optimization". They tell you it will happen "later" because they obviously don't want to tell you it will never happen.

Downloading it now on Steam, i don't like the original game cause it's too tough to play and i don't like survival games, but if this is just about fight in an arena with dinosaurs with those graphics etc well i'm in!

I played three matches last night, and got killed by a swarm of insects all three times. It's like the other players are barely a threat compared to the wildlife, which will relentlessly hunt you no matter how far you run. They seriously need to work on that for this game to feel like a Battle Royale.

The game's UI also needs some serious work. Crafting and managing your inventory is a pain in the ass. ...and likely to get you killed by a swarm of bugs while you're scrolling through a list of mostly useless craftable items

I don't like how they're handling performance. Kinda sucks that people continue buying even tho barely any effort has been made to optimize it. ARK on consoles with look like absolute shit because of this. I promise.

I've been playing Ark with a mate on Xbox One and it isn't pretty but has been getting better, it performs so much better than my beast PC, it really baffles me. One of my best and worst gaming experiences.

Have a 980 and just upgraded to a 6600k and OCed it to 4.2......game runs like ass
