I've never worn anything like this before. Until I recently received a gold chain and a nice looking watch as a gift. It still feels like a foreign object on the wrist, but I think I like it. How do you see it?

I own a couple of Breitling's, only wearing them on special occasions.

My gold chain link bracelet I wear more frequently, though.

I don't wear any jewelry. Not a fan, personally.

I have a Seiko turtle as my everyday beater watch. I'm so used to it now that I feel annoyed if I happen to forget to wear it, cause I'm used to looking at time from my wrist. Once you get used to it, it's like underwear, can't go without it.

I do not consider a watch (even a gold/silver/platinum one) that does not have jewels in it to be jewelry. It is a timepiece that serves a function for me.

So a watch then.

No one ever think of "apple watch" when you say "watch"
It probably varies from country to country, when it comes to watches here, it's mostly about Apple watches or some other sports watches. Normal watches are quite rare.

I don't like to have anything on my forearms\wrist, i stopped wearing watches when i was like 15.

I can very rarely wear a bracelet if the occasion call for it.

No jewelry. Should be functional first, factor second. In those cases I dont consider it to be jewelry

If I am going to wear a watch it better:
1) Have all access to all my money
2) Let me know when I have email
3) Give me step by step directions to the icecream shop 50 feet away
4) Tell me my blood glucoses is "CRITICALLY HIGH" after said ice cream shop visit
5) Remind me to meditate after it notices how abnormally high my heart rate is...also after said visit to the icecream shop.

If I wanted to know the time I would just look at my phone...wtf you casio wearing weirdos.
:messenger_grinning_sweat: (the sweat is also from the icecream shop visit...I would eat a L O T of ice cream and it would be a physical activity...which my watch should give me credit for)

A proper watch is absolutely ok. A giant gaudy Invicta....well, to each their own.

A SINGLE gold bracelet or something, also kind of ok, especially if you are hairy, tanned, on the beach, and preferably in the mafia.

Any kind of beaded bracelet, UNLESS it was made for you by your daughter, is a hard no go.

And then there is this.....unless you are a hippy pirate, FUCK NO!

and maybe after a year or 2 of bicep curls and tricep presses :P

I dont wear anything on my wrists. My watches get banged up because i work on stuff and forget to take them off. Also dont want people eyeing me as a target because they see a pricey watch on my wrist that they can snatch and pawn.

For women yes, for men no, unless you are including watches, which I wouldn't call "Arm Jewelry", I'd call that a wrist accessory.

The proper response is "wow, but it looks so fake!"

Ostentatious assholes can NEVER get over the implication their baubles can be so easily imitated these days.
That's the main issue I have with expensive stuff, the "it looks so good it might be fake" vibes

I'm a simple guy, I only wear a Seiko watch. And my wedding ring but I mean of course

Only if I'm going out out, then I'll match my watch to my shoes and belt. Seiko Sarb 035 is a classy timepiece for a decent price and looks good with a strap or bracelet.

I really like some watches, but that's about it.
I have a Nomos Tangente, Meistersinger Pangaea a Swatch x Omega Saturn and a retro Casio calculator watch.

Starting to focus on the lesser known or microbrands as they sometimes offer the same clocks/timepieces meaning you have very good quality. Also for a much more interesting price.
