Nah, the identity politics bit would be more effective. Think about it, before attacking, they'd be incredibly busy trying to figure out which shade of grey is more oppressed than the other, making up 20 different genres to be referred as and then trying to make a balance of those made up genres before even a single laser is fired. They'd self destruct even before landing.
