I have always considered Arthur C. Clarke to be one of the famous people/celebrities that I would truly mourn upon their passing. This is a very short list I keep in my head.

Arthur C. Clarke was a man who has given us many gifts. 2001, 2010, 2061, 3001 and the Rama series - plus his vision of the future of mankind and of science fiction in general. He will be truly missed and I am truly sad.
