RDR2 does everything right except the fucking gameplay. The open world is fabulous, yet the missions feel like an on rail shooter.
If there's a remaster, I really hope that they improve that aspect rather than a fresh coat of paint. I would accept the same visuals at 60fps if it meant more freedom during missions.

Haven't played either of them, but if I had to choose (it would be a tough choice, since I like both settings), I would go with AC: Shadows.

Everyone has opinions and everyone has different tastes. However if there's someone who honestly prefers ACS to RDR2, that person is a ******* and ******* as well as a *******.

Not even comparable.

Shadows is a beautiful but extremely empty open-world compared with RDR2.

Shadows feels hollow in terms of being a lively open-world game.

Red dead redemption 2 is obviously a much better game. That being said, AC Shadows has better character control.

I really dislike how sluggish and clunky Arthur's movement is, specially when you go inside buildings, its just not good. I really hope GTA6 doesn't have shit controls

In my honest opinion, I'd say that Red Dead 2 is a better samurai game and AC Shadows is a better western game.

In terms of open world…it's a tie. No question.

rdr2 will always be the worst when it comes to gameplay, its a 2-footed tank simulator, with most on the rails missions ever put in an open world,
honestly its insane how overrated the whole thing is

I enjoyed Shadows, but RDR2 overall for sure. To me, walking around in that world, it's magical.. That said, many of RDR2's game mechanics are worse than Shadows', the "mission failure" mechanic is just one infamous example.

Played Shadows more cause it's more of a game. RDR2 is a better experience. Hard to compare. GoY beats them both for fun factor. Three different games. All fun.

I am not a huge fan of RD2 gameplay/mission structure (basically stuck at Gta3 design). That said, way more ambitious game, can't go for AC.

Both games did not come out the same year even so this comparison is weird. Tho there were many comparison of rd1 and ac3 at the time as both games were in similar time frames and open world . Actualy at the time ubisoft was trying to make ac3 and compete with it. It didn't get there of course not even close as ac3 was very unfocused

Lol it's not even close. WTF is that comparison !? Rockstar should feel insulted ^^
