ok so let me get this straight. this is a great videocard, it will let me capture video from my xbox, and turn my computer into a tivo? is that correct?

also is there anything else comparable? and the lowest reliable price seems to be from newegg for $260, think i can find it anywhere else cheaper?

That's pretty much what it is. It's got slightly less performance that the standard 9800pro, but I really like mine.

There's a 9600AIW, but obviously the performance is going to be lower.

edit: what mobo do you have? I had some serious incompatibility issues with my card and the Gigabyte k8NNXP for almost 4 months, then ATi released a new revision of the card (which should be all over by now). This was after me fighting with Gigabyte and ATi both telling me there were 'absolutely no known issues' for that entire time.

I never sent the old card back. :D

im not sure of my mobo. its a dell, i didnt build it myself. i do know it has a 4x agp slot. will that greatly limit performance of the card? can i use the pci version to get better performance?

so i was reading the box to this today and im not sure if it was the recommended or requirement specs but it said 300w power supply. i only have a 250w. do i HAVE to upgrade my power supply and if i dont have to will lose much or any power from the card? should i upgrade?

edit: shit, can this thing capture in mpeg-4??

You can with the right software I believe. Someone I know made a great prog that can encode directly to Divx/Xvid on the fly. Shucks.. Rage3d is down. :/

About the PSU.. how many components do you have? If you're like 1 cpu, 1 HDD, 1 CD you should probably be fine. I'd seriously recommend upgrading that first though. If it works, I doubt you'll see a degredation in performance, but probably in stability (if it's not getting enough juice).
