ATi names multi-VPU Crossfire; Inquirer creates BS article

I'm just... amazed that The Inquirer can get away with this. The first two paragraphs of this article had to be written by a mentally disabled person. You know, maybe not... even someone with an IQ of 50 would never write this bullshit.

ATI DECIDED to call its Multi VPU with a rather interesting name, Crossfire. We sure know that this name was all around news about Bosnia from 1992 to late 1995 as real crossfire was dropping innocent people like scythes to grass.

We don’t know what made ATI choose such a name as we don’t find it that suitable and it has a rather aggressive tone to it in my opinion. It will launch this architecture on the second day of Computex on June 1st, and ATI will brief loyal European press at London and Belgrade in the next few days to give them idea how this works.

ATI believes in its aarchitecture while Nvidia has used every single chance to convince us how bad Multi VPU, aka. Crossfire really is. Nvidia thinks its SLI is much better and believes that the press including the INQUIRER are too soft on ATI's decisions. Everyone wans to be an editor you know.

ATI has been a bit on the economical side with the verite on Multi VPU, because while you get to keep your old card you have to buy a spanking new master card. We all believed that you will be able to use two old Radeons in this Multi VPU setup.

ATI also raised a spinscreen with the statement that you don't need to bridge the cards inside but it turns out that ATI needs to bridge the cards outside. Then again ATI never officially said anything - it was all unofficial. µ

As long as it works we are fine with this new marchitecture and we don’t care about dongle if it provides sufficient picture quality. Remember SLI birth problems, we experienced quite a few ourselves but now it works quite well. I haven’t had any SLI problems in last few weeks. It just takes time as those marchitectures are a little bit tricky but ATI might be on the right path. We will be able to tell you more when we actually see it in action.
Inquirer is comparing ATi's newest entry into the graphic card market to a horrific event in Bosnia. What. The. Fuck. I don't know why I'm angry about this, but The Inquirer is just such an anomoly to me... how it somehow stays afloat while posting nonsense like this all the time. And fuck, if they are on such a crusade to fight the evil corporates from using the word CROSSFIRE for a product, GOOGLE IT. I hate these guys. But that's the way she goes.

Regardless, I think that's a great name. Even if a product is crappy, a great name always helps. Seems like this Crossfire is actually pretty good. Can't wait to get one.

Actually, it is so insane and off the wall that I cannot be bothered by it. :) I'm sure once his meds kick in that there will be a retraction.

"...aarchitecture?"

Fuad Abazovic, the writer of that article, judging by his name is a guy from Bosnia. God only knows what he might have lived through there and what it did to him, so maybe everyone should cut him some slack :\

He should be reporting the news. Given that his article is linked to all over the web, including Google News, it's poor taste of him to include editorial in an article that should have been two paragraphs about the new name.

I actually agree too. However, articles on Inquirer, love it or hate it, are almost always sprinkled with some personal commentaries.

Maybe everyone should just demand that he should stop whining and start acting like a man, for once.

I met a Bosnian kid once, he was around 10 years old. Someone asked him where his dad was and he replied, "Finished" while motioning a slit throat. It was pretty sad.
