SAME! I tried so desperately to get that game to a state where I could enjoy it as much as some of my friends did, but modding can only go so far.

Definitely need more time. Fallout New Vegas was brilliant, but there were so many bugs. And the invisible walls, fuck I hated the invisible walls!

My only gripe about fallout3 and NV is and was the engine. The characters look soooooo damn awful >.<

Bethesda's base engine was so goddamn fucking horrendous Obsidian had no chance in hell of saving it

Obsidian will bring you great writing and game design combined with numerous, incredible, almost heroic levels of bugs. Bethesda's engine was already a buggy piece of shit. When the two met...

Everyone keeps going on about how good Skyrim looks, but after playing The Witcher 2, I gotta say it looks pretty bad in some screenshots. Some of the textures are so low res and even with the improved character models they still look a little off at times.

I agree >.< but then you have to remember, its aimed at Consoles then 'upsized' abit for PC, whereas TW2 was made for pc and is being downgraded for consoles (The natural order of things as they should be!

Also, TW2 is more closed and linear.

Whenever I get a little bit hyped for Skyrim, I look at some screenshots and they remind me of Oblivion, which just sucks all the hype away.

My main problem with skyrim is the combat... I mean, casting spells or fireballs and anything just felt so bad in oblivion. And the melee wasnt super terriffic either >.<

Came in 2nd place in the Soul Calibur 1 tournament at the first avcon.

I'd never played the game for more than 15 minutes before that day lol.

I still remember hearing who the favourite was and I watched his games, his main strat was to just stand there and reverse any attack that came at him then pummel the opponent.

Had to play him in the semi-final, I just stood there and we had a stand off until he decided to attack. Pummeld him.

That was my issue as well, I think thats why I enjoyed Fallout 3 and New Vegas over Oblivion, VATs just made that combat system work where as without it just would of played really meh just like Oblivion. If only they could put a similar system into Skyrim I'd be alot more interested.

Game of Thrones: Genesis downloading.

Watched some gameplay videos and it looks interesting. Not amazing but an interesting, slow paced strategic RTS. With Ice and Fire lore.

Will post some impressions later tonight.

Can someone think of a reason why I'd have problems streaming video to a PS3 when I have no problems streaming it to a 360 on the same network?

VATS was far from the only thing wrong with F3...

That said, I still put at least 50, 60 hours into that game...

Actually everything but VATS made it a shooter. VATS was turn based, so if you did not use it then you were playing a stock standard FPS, albeit one with horrible stat based accuracy.
VATS was cool but I would hate to see it in other first person perspective games as the main reason I enjoyed it was the throwback to the older (better) games and the cinematic way you could destroy your enemies. It would break the gritty, immersive, realism angle that STALKER takes and would remove the fun, twitch action of a COD/Bulletstorm game.

Everything that I have seen so far has me really hyped. Thinking about even picking it up day one which is rare for me. Hopefully I am at the end of my internet cycle when I download that behemoth!

I found VATs to be one of the best things about Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It allowed you to pause the action slightly and try and work out the best outcome in any fight. Trying to work out what would be the best to do in a situation. True most of the time it came down to unload all shots to the head. But I found in New Vegas where for a fair while your not the overpower mass killing machine you are in 3 I was doing things like taking out the legs or arms of several enemies in one go and then picking them off once it had reset.

Maybe cause I'm not the best with FPS styled games and have a hard time thinking quickly and aiming for headshots I just found it made things alot more fun. Also was playing on the 360 so maybe the controls where alot more precise on the PC. I do like how in New Vegas due to how Damage had been redone I found myself staying out of VATs alot more and going for stealth critical shots with the Sniper Rifle (Stupid Deathclaws, why do they have to live in giant packs now).
