PLANO - An infant died today after her mother called 911 to report cutting off the baby's arms, police said.

The 35-year-old mother, whose name was not released, was being questioned this afternoon. She called 911 this morning and when authorities arrived, they found the baby with her arms severed and the mother waiting calmly with blood on her clothing, police said.

The baby died at Plano Medical Center around noon, Plano police spokesman Carl Duke told The Dallas Morning News in a story on its Web site.

Authorities said other family members, including two school-age children, lived together in a Plano apartment.

Holy crap, I live in Plano and I just heard about this today!

Apparently she had post-partum depression and was on medication for it and Child Protective Services was visiting the house once a week. Then in July CPS assessed that she was OK and stopped the weekly visits. She was also taken off the medication.

Sarcasm my friend. I was just bitter about the some other thread bashing religion for something it had nothing to do with when I made this thread.


Edit: I'm no women and I obviously haven't ever given birth but using Postpartum depression as an excuse for something like this is BS. I don't care how depressed you are, you don't just go and cut off a babys arms and not know what ur doing or the consequences of your actions. She deserves everything bad that shes going to get.
