Bad Boys Buggery

So, I watched ALL the Bad Boys movies recently and something is bugging me. In Bad Boys 2, Mike sees a high school yearbook in Marcus's home, flips to his own photo and sees it signed "bad boys for life." I am to assume the yearbook is Marcus's and was probably signed by Mike back in school.

Now, let's ignore Marcus is 3 years older than Mike in universe.. that's easily explainable.

My issue is in Bad Boys For Life, Mike seems to've had a whole other life before meeting Marcus. BUT BB2 makes it seem like they've been on this ride since High School.

What am I missing GAF?

That it was a Michael Bay movie and things like continuity don't matter.

And yes that's my serious answer. I think it was a throwaway line in BB2.

Mike and Marcus's relationship IS the entire series. If the origins are in question, the whole trilogy is a lie.

Just explain it as them having different circles of friends and interests that fell by the wayside as they stayed close.

I mean when I was a teenager, I was on the school rugby team and was super into Warhammer 40,000. Surprisingly, there was absolutely zero overlap between the two friend groups I developed in those different hobbies, who would likely have been shocked to learn rhe other existed (then ruthlessly take the piss out of me for it)

I think my blanket answer to any questions about these movies might be to quote Big Smoke:

"Like it says in the book. We are blessed, and cursed."
