Preference? For a guy who's played neither series, which game would you recommend?

I'm totally sick of the goddamned conquest mode only BS with BF2. GRAW's variety of gameplay types FTW.

I love bf2. But i grew tired of the ONE MODE OF PLAY.

Not to mention GRAW has a single player mode. Sounds like a no-brainer to me. But then again, I'm not much of a competitive guy.

BF2 is too fast paced. I prefer games with no respawns and a slower pace.

I guess I should clarify that I'm talking 360 here. My PC couldn't run Starcraft..

I guess I'd be more interested in replayability via multi-player.

I love bf2. But i grew tired of the ONE MODE OF PLAY.

It still has far more variety of play than a game like GRAW even with just conquest mode. Modern Combat(x360) features Capture the flag in the offical game modes. Also there is a full single player mode in Modern Combat with challenges and time attacks also featured. Its pretty well handled for what is a multiplayer game.

BF2 pc stomps on it ofcourse with Special Forces and mods like rally racing.

BF2 is like, the best game ever. Do whatever you can to play it on PC.

I prefer the BF gameplay and the GRAW singleplayer. I have the same issue as you. Ill be buying both.

Having already played the PS2 version of Battlefield last fall, I can attest to the game's quality. The single player is decent, but the multiplayer is just an all out war games amusement park playground. It's also not a shallow experience. The game tracks your progress and you can rank up after gaining experience and achieving certain objectives. The map designs are very well done and their is a lot of strategy to create and use on each map. The game literally has endless replay value.


However, the recent new media for GRAW has left me unsure about which game might truly end up being the better overall game. I have a feeling GRAW's single player mode is gonna be great. The multiplayer will almost surely be very good. The only thing that might make this less impressive than BF2 is the lack of drivable vehicles. The videos i've seen have shown some vehicles but i'm not sure if you'll actually be able to control them yourself. Thats one of the best features of BF2's multiplayer. Being able to load up 5 people into a helicopter and fly across the map to a current hotspot of fighting is awesome. Either way I think it's gonna end up being a close call between these two games.

This is why I love GameFly. I'll rent both and play them. Then I may buy both from GameFly or just send them back. I honestly couldn't pick between the two just yet. Both look really good and fun.

Based on what we've seen and what's being planned for the retail release, GR:AW by a mile. However BF2:MC seems like a good rental and if you ever get a chance play it on a PC, you'll be wowed.

I'm going with GRAW over BF2 for sure, but it's GRAW vs. Oblivion that's really getting to me.

You wont be dissapointed with BF2MC. Although it would be awesome to see a ground up next gen console version of Battlefield which is probably when PS3 comes.

Delayed along with patch but there will be even more fixes. But if you need something new, there are lots of great mods now. Afew more months and there should be even more killer mods released.
