My wife picked the dvd of this up for my birthday. I did not give her adequate info as to what I wanted( I really hadn't thought much about it) and she indicated that it was ok and she would not feel bad if I returned it. But I have a few questions.

I have never watched the origianl series at all. In fact I barely knew anything about BS until the new series on SciFi. Now I have really enjoyed the new series and will probably get the season 1 dvd whenever it comes out. So would someone who likes the new series, like the old one? thanks

I like the new and old series, but I grew up on the old. Not sure if it works in reverse.

They share a name, several character names, and some ship designs. Other than that they may as well not be related at all. Old BSG is more along the lines of hokey episodic stuff, like an extremely stupid version of Stargate.

You might like it, but don't expect to like it because you like the new one.

Also, is this the series set or the 'motion picture' which is just a reedit of the first three episodes? If it's the movie, take it back.

I like the old BSG better. At least you get to see the actual robotic Cylons more, not humans pretending to be Cylons.

And the chicks were hotter too. Just IMHO.

The only good part of the original series was the pilot movie. After that it was just Knight Rider in space. The new series is absolutely brilliant in comparison.
