Beautifull prototype game - City of Metronome!

I hope this does get picked up, I think it would be fun to explore all those back alleys. I love The Smoking Octopus. It reminds me of Pleasure Island from Pinnochio.

huh, the trailer is amazing. Gives me the chills. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Looks nice, what sort of movements will the main character have? Doesn't look like a 'jump around in' sort of enviroment.

Venture into the city of Metronome, a sprawling mass of haphazardly built houses and huge steam engines where the outlandish inhabitants are carrying out their chores day and night.
A city where the life of every citizen is dictated by the Corporation, a single bureaucratic entity that owns all the land, the entire infrastructure and all the industries.

Explore winding alleys, skewed rooftops and crowded apartment buildings as you search for proof of the Corporations secret agenda, all while listening for sounds to record.
Sounds that can be used for a variety of tasks: fight enemies with loud and destructive sounds, solve problems and confuse citizens by clever usage of the right sound at the right moment, use seductive and melodious sounds to change the mood and behaviour of listeners.

Can't find the specific sound you need? Create it yourself!
Shove a bookcase down some stairs, throw a rock
through a window or simply annoy someone enough
to make them shout at you and then record the result.

I REALLY LIKE the idea of this game. I hope someone will notice it and publish it around the world. And the art style is nice.

These are amazing shots, the team should be commended for doing a very good job of using the xbox technology and coming up with something that could rival the looks of games developed by big studios.

it isn't on xbox. they are using a dx9 engine, reality engine.
if anything, this would have to be next-gen.

That would make more sense, but if that's true, I'm a bit underwhelmed by the look of it if it is next generation. Does the site that someone listed earlier explains about the engine and how it uses DX9?

On a side note, this game looks like city of lost children.

Nice to see another promising Swedish developer on the rise, I hope they get a publisher because it seems really promising...as long as all those features actually work well in practice. At least it looks cool. :)

I'm very excited about this, art and game concept both are very appealing. Hopefully this goes beyond the prototype stage.

visuals: awesome, this is what next gen looks like. Whoever posted those other shots in this thread should be ashamed cause those games look like total and complete shit compared to metronome.

sound: gets a big MEH.

Looks fantastic, I love this type of enviroments.

I'm mor and more excited for next gen, I think in the ammount of details that you could put to the game, it's not going to revolutionize a lot maybe, but It's going to look more and more like playing in render art games.

Wow this is exactley the sort of games I was hoping next gen would bring us. Looks really nice.

If the teaser is an accurate representation of the actual in-game graphics (great AA, motion blur), then I have to admit it looks really impressive.

Yeah, that video is impressive..
