Beginning of the Halo 2 stats reset? All Rumble pit stats wiped out

I was playing head to head against a level three guy and things were screwy. EVERY time i was by him he would start walking into the wall or standing still and then the screen would jump and i would be in a totally different place, dead. I'm assuming this was the standby cheat, but it was odd i wasn't getting the blue screen.

What does bungie do when you leave negative feedback? How long till that player is banned?
 
Seriously,why the fuck do people even play the game if they know they're going to win?I really don't understand it.

Yeah that's what happened to me. There was no blue screen but the guy was walking through the wall as if I was disconnected from the game. Then bam, game goes on and I die
 
After a period of investigation, we’ve discovered what caused the rankings in the Rumble Pit matchmaking playlist to be reset on January 1st. We have isolated the problem and we can revert player rankings to the point before they were reset.

After some discussion, we decided that this would benefit more players than it hurts, but rankings achieved since Jan 1 will be reset to either their status on December 31, or for brand new players, simply reset to level 1.

This server update will take place at 2am PST tomorrow morning, in order to minimize disruption to the service. During this period, stats for those Rumble Pit matches will be unavailable.

We realize this process will cause some aggravation – especially for players who’ve been working since Jan 1 to regain their ranking, but we feel far more players will benefit than suffer. For those who are annoyed, we genuinely apologize. Fixing the rankings should also alleviate the mismatches that inexperienced players have had to suffer through.

You know what's pissing me off now? So I've been playing random games as usual (yeah I know) and sometimes I get stuck with these morons that want to use the glitches. So I'm in this big team battle game on Headlong and these morons were busy trying to use the glitch and couldn't get it to work. I ran by to get the bomb and was shot on my way down and the bitches then began to call me an idiot. I mean why the hell are you f'ing playing the game? What the hell is so damn fun about cheating? The next time we were on offense they tried doing the same trick so I didn't even touch the bomb. They couldn't get the glitch to work and basically lost the game for the team. This has happened many times before on Coagulation too (grabbing the flag from beneath) and if you dare mess up their shit they get really angry.

Today you may have noticed lots of strange things on bungie.net. These included "Internal Server Errors", vanishing stats, "Web Exceptions", and general slowness. We've been working the problem all day, and things have gotten better, but we're still closing out the last of the problems, so you'll still see some occassional sputters until we get it fixed, hopefully by the end


So, that means you can stop emailing us about it - we know your stats have vanished on bungie.net. Rest assured that you haven't lost anything. It is just a case of the web servers having difficulty accessing the data

Ok, what the hell. I played a team skirmish game with a few gaffers, we won, but my ranking went down from 9 to 8. HUH? I even had 22 kills and 3 deaths. What bs.

And damn Halo 2 is fun (when people aren't cheating). Haven't played like all week :D

me and butter thought you were saying before the match u were 9, cause we saw 8 before the match.

the post game thing yea...that thing has always been screwy....i remember when i FIRST started playing halo 2 online...post game, it would say i was 6 but then in the lobby it was 2.

basically, ignore what post game says.

but when we back to pregame lobby it was 5 again... sort of messed up
