Belgium considers euthanasia for children

I don't see anything wrong with that. They obviously would have to consult with parents/family first, but I think it's a good practice.

Euthanasia is fine IMO. Working at a hospital as a candy-striper opened my eyes. Lots of old people in Aventura, and the hospice ward was chock full of old grannies yelling "Kill me!" every five minutes. They just sedated these people, that's how they got them to stop. :( If you don't want to go on living, why suffer? I hated having to go to a patient's room and have them look me in the eyes and ask me to kill them. Fucking depressing shit.

I also had a more personal experience with it. My grandmother had Alzheimers for years and was staying with us and she had a stroke and an aneurism I guess (bleeding on the brain). She was in a coma for like two weeks and had no chance of recovery. The doctors wanted to keep her on life support...just being a vegetable. That was one of the strongest ladies I knew. Still used to take her laundry down to the river in Dominica and haul it back up the hill to her house. Still tended to her goats and chickens until the Alzheimers took her mind. And to see her reduced to a motionless coma patient was sad and was killing my mom. Not to mention, it's not cheap at all. So my mom asked them to pull the plug and the doctors made her feel like shit for it. I wish I was there that day, I'd have killed him. If life support was cheap and if it was easy to just let a person sit there on tubes and a respirator for years, then that's one thing. But it's expensive, and watching a loved one totally lose control of their faculties is absolutely depressing. I wouldn't wish the same suffering on anyone else. I think it's a shame it's not at least an option for people. If I was vegged out after an accident or something, I'd want them to pull the plug. I don't want to be propped up by machines for years. That's not living IMO. PEACE.
