Hi folks. A while back I purchased the Belking Firewire Network cardbus adaptor for my Dell notebook computer. I love the damn thing, but I can't help but notice that there is an input for what looks like an AC Adaptor. The thing doesn't come with an AC Adaptor, and I noticed that my iPod will NOT charge when connected to my computer through this Firewire connection.

It WILL charge when I plug the iPod into my comp's native USB1.1 connector, but it charge and synchs insanely slow. I've scoured Belkin's website, and even tried Google, but haven't had much luck finding an actual AC Adaptor for this card. Any ideas?

PS - If it helps anything, the Firewire card says "12VDC 1A" on it. Is that some kind of voltage indicator? 12 Volts DC, 1 Amphere? Or something. I'm too far removed from my physics classes to remember this crap.

Hahaha, thanks in advance.

your firewire port is not powered via cardbus. you need to plug in regulated DC 12v >= 1A to that little plug thing. you can get the appropriate wall wart via electronic surplus type places, or the quick solution is to go to radio shack and pick up one of their ez-plug (i don't remember the name, but it's something uninspired like that) universal wall warts with the interchangeable plugs. the radio shack option will be pricey though - maybe 10-20 bucks. one thing: make sure you get polarity right (it will be either center pos or center neg) or if it doesn't matter, check that too.

Should I just take my freakin' cardbus with me to RadioShack and have THEM tell ME what I need? Will that work?

Thanks for responding, fart.
