tigerdirect.com occasionally has what look like interesting deals on some barebone sets, which include just the case, a motherboard, speakers, keyboard, and mouse, and maybe PSU. The only problem is that it usually requires the use of a rebate, and tigerdirect (or whoever handles their rebates) has a fairly poor reputation in that regard.
