The "All-American Chocolate Cake" from Costco.
Now, I knew beforehand that Costco's bakery was pretty damn good, but this cake just, well, takes the cake.
At first glance, it looks just like your standard round chocolate cake. Then you realize that it's a little bigger than your Safeway or Albertson's round cake. It's a couple inches taller and wider. Even considering that, I was still surprised when I tried picking one up in the store. The thing weighs SEVEN POUNDS. That's one dense cake.
We finally got one a couple of weeks ago (had company coming), and if you like chocolate, then you owe it to yourself to check this beast out. The cake itself is just a four layer chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting on the top, sides, and between layers, with chocolate flakes on the side of the cake. However, the cake is moist, and very dark in color. The frosting is even darker (so much that it almost looks black), and VERY rich.
A word of warning, if you pick one of these monsters up, get a large container to freeze the bulk of it, as unless there's going to be 5+ people eating this, you will not be able to finish it before it goes stale.
