We have a lot of coffee chains, and they have a lot of high prices. But if you want to go get coffee from a chain where do you like to go?

I really think in the past 2 years I have seen lots of coffee chains pop up in my region so I am asking the community do you have a preferred chain.

Chains generally sell the shittest most overpriced coffees brewed by baristas who have no idea, so I'd rather avoid where possible (unless I'm in the mood for burnt latte that is).

Besides, I think your list is quite US-centric, so there's only 1 on there that I recognise.

My wife picks Scooters anytime she has the choice plus my dog loved the pup cups since they also include a biscuit :)

I don't drink coffee so can't weigh in

Well I am US based and have no idea what our European, or Asian chains. And I agree with your assessment on the chains, but we are working with what we have. I didn't make a "best bespoke coffee shop local to you that no one else will experience" thread. :) :messenger_beaming:

If it is USA only fair enough.

If not can you add some major UK chains

Costa
Greggs
Caffe Nero
Pret A Manger
Black Sheep
?

Ha well yes - I guess I was just venting my frustration having last gone to some shit UK chain (called Neros) over here and was charged £4 or so for a terrible boiling latte. I mean if these 'Baristas' don't even know that a latte should be served at around 65C then GOD HELP US ALL. But yes get your point, sorry for the minor derail - I shall slither forthwith back to the shadows

A lot of this really depends on what coffee you like. Asking for the best coffee is like asking for where the best pizza is, so many different styles, preferences, and experiences.

I like Dutch brothers. One on the way to work, and they seem pretty tasty to me. Not a big coffee guy though. I usually get a blended freeze that tastes chocolately.

Not sure how anyone can pick Dutch Bros when the bastards don't even have black coffee on the menu. Tried to order one online last year while we were on vacation in Colorado... Had to go to a damn gas station next door to get my coffee.

I once fingered a bikini barista through the window of one of those "coffee stands", chain was called Ladybug Espresso.

I'm sure if you listen to the likes of James Hoffman there will be some science behind which is better, but ultimately it'll boil down to personal taste.

For me, the best coffee is made at home.

I found Starbucks tastes crazy bitter and burnt, no wonder people drink that stuff with syrups and added flavours. Tim Horton's is also fucking gross, if someone told me it was just unflushed toilet water I'd agree.

The list probably needs McDonalds on there. McCafe is easily better than Tim Horton's.

Generally, I'd go for some independent coffee place or just make it at home.

I prefer the coffee at Sheetz or Circle K to 'premium' national chains such as Starbucks. But no coffee anywhere is as good as the coffee I make at home. I buy my beans from Black and White, a roaster based in Raleigh, NC, and I cherish my Fellow grinder and French press.

Bremerton? Seattle? Always amused me that bikini baristas linger on in eastern Washington, the premier destination for woke-scolds in the continental U.S.
Yeah this was just North of Seattle. I used to work up in the epicenter of these things. They weren't really bikini baristas, in fact if they had a bikini on that would be way more appropriate than what they wore lol

The girl in question was arrested for it all, she was a manager.. the article about it said when they confiscated cash from the stand it "smelled like fish".. can't make that shit up lol

edit: here it is, and I was wrong, it was Java Juggs: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/something-was-fishy-in-bikini-barista-investigation/

The money reeked of fish, explained Carmela Panico, the 51-year-old owner of the Java Juggs and Twin Peaks drive-thru espresso stands, because she hid it in her freezer, according to a search warrant filed in Snohomish County Superior Court late Monday.

Wasn't the owner, I never saw here, but she was an ex-stripper. I half suspect the fish smell was not because it was hidden in her freezer lol

Crazy to think they got caught, cause it looks like they hid the "extras" so well.
