OMFG HOLY MOTHER OF MARY IN HEAVEN I CANT BELIEVE IT WTF WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES AAAAHHH
What is the best cordless(not cell) phone I can buy with the longest range? I have seen so many to choose from, from Uniden to Panasonic to Motorola. I just bought one from Radio Shack yesterday and I'm taking it back because it just plain sucks. Even though it reprotedly has a 5.8Ghz range, it suffered from signal loss with the base being stationed in the building lobby where I work, to the parking garage one floor below. I was suprised that a 5.8Ghz phone would break signal between the lobby and the parking basement.

Is there a phone I can get with a longer than 5.8Ghz range? With exceptional voice quality?

Which brands are known to be the best? Uniden? Motorola? Panasonic? V-Tech?

My parents bought a Panasonic 2.4 Ghz phone from a few years back and it has ridiculous range. From the kitchen you still get good quality by the pool which is at least 200 feet fromt he kitchen. Since 5.8 is supposed to be better, I would just assume that phone is whack, you have some sort of crazy interference, or the walls are made or kryptonite.

Panasonic is the best. Uniden is 2nd.

Panasonics are really perfect, great features, great range. Only downside is they tend to cost more. They use DSS on like every phone now which is good.

Uniden has everything for the most part Panasonic does, for cheaper, but range sucks. I own the 8885 and 4 handsets myself, perfect phone cause I don't need massive range. Range is like 130 feet or something before it starts crackling, kinda shitty. But that is the only bad thing I can say. No DSS either. Dunno why cause they have it on their 2.4s, but their newish 5.8s don't have DSS. Another thing that annoys me is their phones can't intercom. For example, if you want to speak to another handset, you page the handset and it 'rings' until someone picks it up. If no one picks it up after a couple rings it stops. You can't just start talking out of it like "Hey Shithead, you have a call". Panasonics can do that. You can transfer calls with the unidens the same way.

Motorola is shit. Pure shit. They used to be good, but haven't put out a good phone in over 2 years. Stay far far away. Their new phones are still analog too (WTF?).

Get a panasonic, you'll be happy in the long run. I would say uniden, but you need the range.

Yeah, those things are supposed to be absolute nightmares when it comes to reliability. Apparently the company is one of the worst in the business when it comes to timely repairs, too. I thought those were cool, too, a while back, but after some research decided they sounded like way too much trouble.

The range is all dependent on how many other electronics are around the phone reception area. If you're in a high rise apartment building, the reception won't be very far due to the interference. If, however, you're in the boonies and there's nothing to interfere with the signal, the range will be significantly farther. As a result, I've never found any difference between the 2.4 and 5.8.

Oh yeah, get the Panasonic 5.8 GHz. Everything everyone said about them is true. Their phones absolutely rock. No one else even comes close. :)

Hmm, that kinda sucks because the base I'm using is going to be near a bunch of stuff like a CCTV, camera control system, Desktop PC, and bunch of handheld Motorola Walkie Talkies.....with any of those hinder the range between the lobby and one floor below to the parking garage? And will being in an elevator cause signal loss?
