I know this is probably extremely over-done. But based on the Trippy movies thread. You guys know about a lot of little known movies. I, am mainly mainstream, so I really enjoyed seeing all these new titles. I've seen a few of the movies in there now. But, I was just curious what this forum could come up with for the best movies ever.

There is no limit. You can post as little or as many as you like. But, if it's relatively unknown a little bit about the movie would be nice.

My Top Ten: (Obviously Mainstream)
1. Donnie Darko
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Big Fish
4. Resivior Dogs
5. Taxi Driver
6. Kill Bill (Both Volumes)
7. Clerks
8. T2
9. Edward Scissorhands
10. Raging Bull

I'm just cribbing from other lists. A lot of good movies, but here are the ones that jump out at me on this evening:

Amelie
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Spirited Away
Ran
Schindler's List

EDIT: And with Eternal Sunshine there, I've got to say Adaptation.

And I like Trainspotting too.

Gladiator and the original trilogy rock.
Gladiator is a great dumb action flick. The Original Recipe SW trilogy will always hold a special place in my heart. Merely saying those, when you have all the movies in creation to choose from, might have spared the poor fella from my bile. But PURPOSEFULLY INCLUDING the celluloid abortions that are the first two chapters of the "New and Absolutely Not Improved" Trilogy over every other filmed experience singles you out as either an idiot of the highest calibre or PT Grievous, one of the two. He deserved what he got and I would be happy to kick him again.

I was unaware that having taste involved me liking stupid 'indie' films.
You don't have to like stupid "indie" films. If you had said ET, Citizen Kane and Shrek 2, I would have been fine with it. They are all good, popular films. For fucks sakes, you just have to be able to look yourself in the mirror, be a carbon based lifeform about it and admit that Episodes I and II were quite possibly some of the worst films ever made.

Aw, I wouldn't go that far. The thing is, they just did an incredible job of screwing up the un-screw-up-able. It's like Enter the Matrix... not horrible in its own right, but it just leaves you wondering how they managed to miss the mark so badly.
