PC world is a peaceful life…no war at all 😂

razer was first tho
Razer had those weird "analog optical" switches that used light came out after 2020, wootings been doing this since 2018 with the original One HE

Wooting expanded on this 3 years ago but were smart enough to make it a "mode" for games that don't support dual input.

Razer, Steelseries, etc all followed suit but like everyone else what happens when you play catch up is that you'll never be able to be match the original because you're so focused on their idea and how to implement it that you just end up falling short.

Still. It's a stupid gimmick that makes no sense.
even when huntsman pro worked, it was impossible to gently press the keys for analog effect. Who thinks about that when playing?
It's the most useless feature in modern keyboards. Sounds great on paper but in real world scenario nothing beyond that imo.
And not to mention, it's a boring linear switch but each to his own.

I also had huntsman MINI for few years and really liked the 60% layout and linear switches back then.... but 8bitdo kalih bx white 2.0 switches are complete 180 from that.
Nowadays I play mostly with controllers anyway

I have the Thermaltake Poseidon Z (blue cherry) mechanical gaming keyboard. That thing sounds like a freight train going through the office.

tl;dr but a feature doesn't suck just because you don't personally like it. It's like people who complain about the implementation of gyro aim, you don't have to like it for a use to be found.

I think the feature objectively kinda sucks.
You got what? 2mm for full analog movement?
And you are going to use that in gaming? for what?
If you say racing game, that's stupid because it will work better with wheel or controller anyway.

Oh and gyro aiming sucks ass even more. Sure I could play with it if I was forced too but it's a nightmare

you get about as much when using an analog stick.... they're input methods designed for your thumbs and fingers, of course they're not going to be large or long.

You'd use analog movement on a keyboard the same way you'd use it on a controller- for character movement.

it's only a gimmick because Xinput doesnt account for such inputs, because MS own controller is still stuck in 2001 and they can't comprehend analog keyboard switches or gyro aim

It's not the same movement.
You press WASD with 3 middle fingers and move your stick with a thumb and that stick got wider range of movement that 2mm....
And yeah. Xinput shit doesn't help. games switching back and forth.

Just imagine not bottoming out on keys when playing is madness.

They also have an OG Xbox looking one as well, saw one at a Best Buy

i like when computer accessories are colorful.

Feels like the Xbox layout could have kept the green on the keycaps and just go for black on the rest, but still cool. I also wish the WASD keys had the xbox button colors instead of the arrow keys, but w/e lol.

I hope 8bitdo makes a 98% version of this keyboard styled like the Amiga, then i'd buy 100%

IDK what a fucking 98% is but they do make a full keyboard version

when the fuck did our hands have 3 middle fingers? Alien exposed. Stop spying on us :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Mechanical keyboard switches are long and travel far enough to account for analog movement, we're not talking about the membrane scissor trash seen on laptops and cheap library computers. Not everybody wants to use a controller and we should evolve our controller and keyboard options from what we had 2 decades ago.
IDK what a fucking 98% is
Its a 100% keyboard but without all the dead air between some of the other keys so its more tightly packed like an 80% or 60% keyboard

I like them more, they seem to take up less space while having full functionality

I'm with you on this one, you angry stubborn bastard.

I find it hard to imagine achieving nuanced directional input using varying pressure of 3 fingers, it doesn't sound very intuitive or easy to achieve the same results as a stick. It seems like an expensive and complex way to achieve worse results, in all honesty.

Of course I'm always open to actual experience that say otherwise. Clearly they're popular boards so maybe I'm missing out.

I think if I wanted to mix analog with kbm I'd try one of the hybrid devices first. I did a quick search and found an Era thread on it from a couple years back with various suggestions: https://www.resetera.com/threads/is...r-combined-controller-mouse-pc-gaming.763430/
