Best Internet options other than Comcast?

I like Spectrum. I'm in California tho. No idea what's available in Georgia.

Well, I mean the Internet runs pretty dang fast, but we've been on some type of triple package for years -- cable Internet, cable TV and a landline. Thing is, we only utilize the Internet. Neither of us watch TV, and the phone...holy shit -- have the sound turned off so we're not bothered by solicitors. But we've called to ask about just getting the Internet, and they tell us that the Internet speed would go to a lower speed. The monthly cost is ridiculous for this triple package we don't use.

You can't just order a new ISP off Amazon, no on here knows who services your specific address. You will be incredibly lucky if you have 1 or 2 other providers to choose from, many people only have 1 option period. All ISP's are going to have books of horror stories written about them as well as good and bad markets. Just get the cheapest and/or fastest that services you depending on what you want/need.

I think I'm the only one that likes Comcast. I've never had anything but an amazing experience with my service. My internet is super fast and has never once gone out for more than an hour in over a decade. Good thing too because I have no other options other than really slow att service.

OP, I've had Comcast and Spectrum. The former can be a little pricey. I had excellent experiences with Spectrum. If you have to bundle tv with internet to get a decent deal then make certain that you're leveraging their TV package to its fullest. Spectrum streams live TV over the net accessible via web and app. Why this is great: can watch the Braves live wherever you go. Additionally, iirc you can also watch a ton of shows on demand and not just live all via the same service. I think Comcast has a very similar service.
I'm in north Alabama. I left Spectrum for Otelco fiber. I did not let the awful reviews stop me, and it was a great decision. 300 Mbps symmetric. Eat that cable. No more 100/10 or 200/20 or even supposedly 400/50 or whatever AND NO DATA CAPS. AT ALL.

We have WOW here competing with spectrum and AT&T. it was great to have a lower priced regional service but they have since been trying to ape the bigger providers by adding data caps and increasing their prices.
I threatened to switch to Spectrum a couple of years ago because they were offering new users $20 for their 100 Mbps connection and charging me $60, so they gave me a $30 plan which expired this month and now im back to $60. I can call them and threaten to quit again or just switch to spectrum because they also offer $30 plans to new costumers but this time WOW can put me in their data cap plans even if they do let me keep my $30 plan.
So yeah, even regional services are lame, but they might be your best bet. Just google ISP providers in atlanta and pick anyone that gives you a good price per performance. dont bother looking at reviews, all ISPs have trash ratings because people only review them when they have issues. Just give them a shot for a couple of months.
Atlantic Nexus comes up first when I search ISPs in Atlanta, and has surprisingly good reviews. But thats probably because they are new. Again, dont discount a provider if they have bad ratings, but good ratings are a good sign.
