Best Intro in a game

To you guys, what is the best intro in a game.

To me, its Final Fantasy VIII. Its like watching an opera scene.
and Parasite Eve. :)

In previous "Name your best game intro" threads, I've said mine was (US)Final Fantasy III, and it hasn't changed.

Resident Evil for PS1.
(POV of cerberus as it runs at the back of a STARS member, jumping, having the STARS member scream, gush of blood, /end)

AWESOME.

Zelda OOT
Shenmue (all downhill after though)
Metroid Prime
Halo
Beyond Good and Evil
RECV
Onimusha III
Shadow Hearts
Shadow Hearts Covenant

all pretty damn great

Too late. :lol. This is my favorite too. The cheesy character intos are awesome.

It's not my favorite of all time, but MK Shaolin Monks' intro was pretty friggin' cool. I also liked MGS2 (the bridge scene ruled), Tekken Tag Tournament, Devil May Cry 1 and 3, REmake, RE3: Nemesis, and FFVIII (too bad the game itself was lame) to name a few. I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that pop into my head.

Vagrant Story-the intro is about ten minutes long, playable, and includes a nifty boss fight! Skippable too, interestingly

FF8-already mentioned

Shadow Hearts-Yuri does cool shit here that he cannot do in the rest of the game

Oh yeah, Gran Turismo 2, just so perfect with the song "My Favorite Game." Used to reset the PS1 to watch and listen to it again and again.

Ever heard the tune that all the Japanese Gran Turismo's have used for the intro? Much, much better imo.

Chrono Trigger was the first one that came to mind for me. I love the calm opening... flying over the ocean, hearing the seagulls, and watching the balloons and fireworks explode at the town's celebration. And that piece of music that plays when Crono wakes up is just... wow. It so perfectly sets the tone for the game, and does it quickly.

Moon over the Castle is great, but I wouldn't say its much better than MFG. Plus MFG gets extra points because the Cardigans named the album its on after GT. :)

Speaking of GT, the Tourist Trophy intro is really good too. The start of it is really amazing because it looks like CG until the rider drives out onto the track and you notice it was all real time.

I always loved the Ninja Gaiden (for NES) intro thing (when you left the title screen on for a while) -- the song in it was great

Suikoden 3 had a good one too (also had a good song)

The US intro was a piece of shit. The Cardigans suck ballsack. The "Moon Over the Castle" theme was sooooo much better. It's not even funny.

I don't know if I'd call it the best, but one of the most memorable intros for me was the orignal Splinter Cell on Xbox. When the Crystal Method song kicked in and the montage of the gameplay flashing on the screen I remeber feeling so pumped, I couldn't wait to play the game but I had to sit and watch it.
