a few years back winamp was untouchable but whats the best now? i know out of nowhere winamp became a resource hog but has that changed? my main concern is that it takes up very minimal resources (like the older winamps).

i didnt even know winamp lite existed

im gonna check out the new winamp and see how it is. im glad to see the UI is exactly the same.

any other suggestions?

There's winamp 2.x which they just remade, and there's also Winamp 5, which pretty much just got rid of the shitty smell of Winamp 3.

Hello, my name is Jim, and I'd like to recommend iTunes for all of your mp3 file-playback needs.

This has been Jim for iTunes.

winamp5 seems pretty cool so far, just like the old winamps.

what i hate is adding new files. you have to manually search for new audio files to add to your playlist. is there anyway to have it automatically add new files? i tried to "add folder" thinking it wouldnt add duplicates but that didnt work.

Go to the Media Library, click on the library button, and select "Add files to Library". You can also go to Library Options > Watch Folders and select a folder for Winamp to watch and automatically add files to after a set period of time.
