The reason these are the best phones are:

Using the latest Qualcomm 8 Elite SoC
Improved cooling
Big Batteries
Additional Buttons
Additional ports like a second USB C

Nothing else can be compared to them in terms of raw power and cooling while gaming.

If you want something cheaper, try to look at the Poco F series.
They often have a pretty good SoC for a low price but lack things like a good cam etc.

Red magic, because it's as good as Asus ROG phone but also it's available.

It's the best.

Then there could be ayaneo pocket S but it's not a phone

I’m using iPhone 13 Pro, in January it will be 3 years, works perfectly. You guys are really burning money.
He/She asked for the best one without giving any details about the budget.

He/She could get the older models, but in the SoCs advance so fast, if you want the best, you have to get the latest ones.

Asus ROG 9, probably

but most phones with a good chip will do

maybe a OnePlus 12R
OnePlus 13 is about to release. And Redmagic 10 pro is about to launch.

Redmagic has an actual cooling fan built in so performance is usually top notch for the price. Their software and update policies though are …

Next gen Qualcomm chipset is going to be releasing basically next few weeks in a lot of Chinese phones and Samsung will have S25 series in Jan. I would wait and decide which one makes the most sense.

Or just buy a Steamdeck / ROG Ally X or Ayn Odin 2 Portal if you must have Android. These would make a lot more sense.

I've got an iPhone 16, it games great while also keeping your hands warm during the winter.
Netflix games, Capcom games, Genshin Impact games.
Backbone works, but I mostly just use onscreen controls.

I’ve tried to get in to mobile gaming (downloaded popular stuff like CoD Mobile, Genshin etc.) but if you want those ‘big games’ it’s just not a good experience IMO. iPhone got red hot, battery depletes quicker, notifications or phone calls popping up can cause all sorts of issues.

I found that simpler, tap based, time-killer games can be pretty fun on mobile: Pokémon Go for a couple of minutes a day. Pokémon TGC Pocket is really fun. Bloons TD6, Balatro, Clash of Clans. Stuff like that.

As phones don’t have great cooling even an iPhone 16 Pro is going to get red hot playing stuff like Resident Evil so it’s just not worth it and as GHG GHG said, stuffing a Switch Lite in your bag or getting a Deck is going to be a miles better experience.

the OnePlus 13 will cost 1K

he doesnt need to pay that much to play games. The 12R is more than enough. Good performance, good screen, good battery

Alternatively Odin 2 or the new Odin 2 Portal would be good. And if it’s JUST for games, Redmagic is always great bang for the $. Just I wouldn’t use it as my main phone.

One Plus is also a good suggestion.
