When I get a new car I plan to add a screen and DVD player to it. I'm sure some of you are in to this sort of thing. What is the best, yet affordable, means of doing this? Motorized screen in main unit? Overhead console? Headrest monitors? Also, what is a good place to get stuff for this sort of project? Or, suggest specific parts.

Don't do it. Plain and simple. The guys who install it for you will in turn steal it from you. If they don't steal it from you, someone else will.

No. I'm not talking about anything extreme. Something simple, not too expensive, to keep passengers entertained during long trips.

Get something portable that can be strapped onto the seat or similar. You'll be able to store this sort of unit when not in use so you don't have to worry about someone ripping open your seats.

Oh, I'd definitely want something simple enough that I could install it myself. That's why I was leaning toward something like this:

I'm sorry, but I'm REALLY confused about your priorities. Weren't you just asking for advice on buying CHEAP cars? And now you want to spend $$$ on a DVD player?

Just who is going to be watching this DVD player while you're driving?

At any rate, buy an AC inverter and a portable dvd player if you really must have one.

I'm just curious. Sheesh. Jump down a man's throat, what don't you? For the record, I decided I would be better of going with a low mileage used vehicle. I'll probably end up buying a late model Nissan Altima. Happy?

What kind of car do you own?

Couple questions I want to ask.

1. Where is the car stored? If it is stored outside I would say negatory on the whole idea. Moniters bring too much attention.

2. Is the car going to have tinted windows. If not it should it will reduce the glare.
