Best-selling games released between 2020-2025

Actually thats not even a relevant excuse as the PS5 version was released in 2022.
It's not even an excuse. A re-release of an existing game isn't a release of a new game. We're not talking a remake here. As you imply yourself total sales of GTA5 are counted from its initial release in 2013 until now on all platforms.

You're perfectly free to create a new thread about "the best selling games no matter of release year between 2020-2025" if that's what you're interested in.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy sold 30 million?

Now we know why R* can take all the fucking time they need for a single game, even the trash tier AI-slop remasters they put out sell more than 90% of AAA games.

I've played only a few of those, enjoying both Valhalla and Ragnarök, and Mario Bros. Wonder was fine. But I apparently play very different games than the big majority of gamers out there.

Vanguard sold 30,000,000 copies while MWII (2022) sold fewer than half its number?

I find that very difficult to believe.

Those are the ones I've played. Of the ones I haven't, I might eventually play SMBW. The rest will stay unplayed.

Of the ones I've played. I'd rank them:

1. Cyberpunk 2077 - originally played it at launch and liked it. It feels a totally different game now. I love anything cyberpunk so everything about the world is right up my alley. I love all the characters. Definitely going to do yet another playthrough.
2. Baldur's Gate 3 - amazing RPG of course but I feel like I've seen mostly everything. I keep wanting to do a Dark Urge playthrough but not sure it's worth it. The gameplay is solid but I can't put another 200 hours in replaying the same content.
3. Hogwarts Legacy - It's an average story/open world rpg. The only reason I rate it so highly because it's Harry Potter and I was desparate for a new game. Hopefully the next game is a lot better.
4. Animal Crossing - addictive but held back technical issues (getting flashbacks to joining a party to sell turnips).
5. Tears of the Kingdom - loved BOTW but keep dropping off TOTK. Have never made it past the first dungeon
6. Switch Sports - fun game but sold my copy. Might buy it again at some point.
