Driving into a hurricane in Forza Horizon 5 was quite the experience.
I came here to say DriveClubDriveclub no question
Hunt: Showdown has great rain. The weather cycles between light rain and heavy thunderstorms. The clouds open during light. Water pours off roof edges etc., it's really well done.
The one you land on the coast in China.I remember Battlefield 4's level being rather cool. Think it was the second level?
Epic. You shit yourself when you seen it coming. Or worse yet you get distracted doing something and before you know it, it's on top of you.Mad Max (2015) game's thunderstorm were pretty epic. Lightning hitting the ground, dust storm reducing visibility, interactive doodads flying around everywhere hitting you. It could even lift the car or you if you didn't seek shelter. What a game.
Or the Master System II.And younger people will never realize how powerful this was coming off the NES.
Water, and therefore rain, also actively affects gameplay in Hunt. During heavy rain, fire doesn't affect players nor AI enemies, if you step into water you get a 15sec counter that your clothes are wet, footsteps change, fire barrels can't be set off and whatever else is logical. You can be set on fire inside for example, step into the rain or water and be extinguished. The way gunshots travel even changes in the sound design. The devs are wild. This game has such incredible atmosphere, if at least was single player.
What I was thinking about, but also....
Hawkes bay, from Hitman 2.
This intro mission was superb. Absolutely dripping atmosphere, amazing gameplay, intriguing start to the game and the sandbox of possibilities. The storm just gave it that extra kick of immersion.
