Best Web Hosting Service?

Currently, I use dreamhost.com...they offer the latest and greatest functionalities with a cheap package plan, but their control panel leaves ALOT to be desired (very archaic). And plus they charge a $50 setup fee.

Any other service out there that can compare w/ dreamhost's packages and pricing, but w/ a better control panel?

The main things I'm looking for:

No more than $10/month
No Setup Fees (but, if that's unrealistic, anything cheaper than $50)
Pretty and Fully Decked Control Panel
Awesome Customer Service
3+ Full Domains
Unlimited MySQL Databases
PHP

Everything else to me would be a bonus.

What about hostgator.com? Anybody delt w/ them before?

I've been using HostingInsiders.com for probably 6-8 months now and have been very happy with them. They have their three packages on their front page. Not exactly what you're looking for, but wanted to pimp them anyway.

Try http://www.hostony.com/ . Great control panel, good service, inexpensive, and pretty much everything else you need.

Great find! But the package I want is 12.95/month, and you have to pay the 6-month fee upfront ($77). The package before it only allows 1 FULL domain. Dern it. Looks like a great hosting company too. I might have to check them in the future.

i have accounts on globat and readyhosting. I want to leave both. globat provides tons of space, but has poor panel and readyhosting is great in terms of service and price, but has a piss poor panel as well.

I come to notice that for the most part that some of the best web hosting company have the ugliest website design. Ugh!

Anyway, I look into their packages and they really have what I want. 20 - 50 MySQL databases isn't bad at all. However, I need to see a pic of their control panel. How does it look? Can you post a pic, if you don't mind? Thanks again.

That's why I'm suspect of web hosting sites that don't provide a temp account for potential customers to look into their control panel. That's one of the most important things to me. Dreamhost's control panel is a disaster in the making. I put up w/ them because their packages and customer service was pretty thorough. But, now I need to move on.

These guys are AWESOME. I hardly EVER have any problems (one every few months) and when I do the problem is always fixed within 5 or 10 minutes of me sending them an email. I cannot speak more highly about how fucking great Dreamhost is.

Do you work for dreamhost or something? If you do, then please tell the design guys to program a better control panel that's actually easier on the eyes and useful, please! Other than that, the dreamhost guys are great.

I've used Contrast Hosting for over a year now, and I absolutely love them.

They give you the option to completely customize your package, so you can add on more space, more bandwidth, whatever, exactly to your liking. I pay $6 a month. (I've been meaning to actually do something with my domain, right now it's just storage and small private pages.)

The cPanel is great too, and comes with a ton of Fantastico! installers, like WordPress, Coppermine, BBS systems and more.

I also can't stress how great their customer support is. I lost my credit card and was unable to make this month's hosting payment, AND my domain expired. @_@ I explained the situation and they couldn't have been better about it, they waived this month's fee AND renewed my domain for me, free of charge.

Definitely check them out!

cloudwalking, do they allow PHP scripts? I don't see it on their list of features. Although, it's probably likely since they allow MySQL.

Yes, they do. :)

EDIT: Regarding my previous post... Hmm, looking at my control panel now, I don't see Fantastico there anymore, so it's possible they removed that. :(

Are you color blind? :lol

Dreamhost rocks. I have made over 2 grand referring people :D

Geocities. ;)

I had bad experiences with Surfspeedy and Globat. During the cancellation process of Surfspeedy, I was automatically charged for an additional year. I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to credit me. Globat just offered zero help when I I had some initial problems.
