I just use the regular ole Modern skin. Although, at the moment, I keep it hidden since my litestep theme has a winamp bar in it. Keeps the taskbar free. Winamp = the bestest.

If you've been using Winamp long enough, you should know which buttons do what already. Your Equalizer should be set, and all that jazz.

This thread really needs to pick up, I like seeing the various videogame/pop culture skins people use.

While we're talking Winamp, has anyone stumbled onto a really good all-purpose equalizer setting? I'm constantly fussing with it because what works with one genre will sound horrible in the next. I can't find a good middle ground.

Thanks for reminding me why I stopped using Winamp. I went through hundreds of skins back in the day and none of them were any good particularly; 99.98% were gaudy, useless, and sluggish. I think the only one I ever stuck with for any decent amount of time was something called Salamander or something close to it.

And for the record, all the Smashing Pumpkins ones sucked.

Winamp is low-profile (in 2.9.1, which is what I use). iTunes feels sluggish and bloated, just like Windows Media Player.

... which admittedly is what I use at work because it includes ripping and burning functionality and I can't be arsed to juggle WinAmp and Exact Audio Copy and Easy CD Creator, which is the combo I use at home. It has gotten better in versions past 8 than the early versions, which were incredibly dreadful.

An audio player should not be larger than 10MB to download and 10MB in memory.

Probably because foobar looks needlessly complicated when all I want to do is press PLAY.

I use the standard winamp skin with this color theme:
