Best Xbox carrying case?

I'm flying to Florida for 6 days of vacation away from the cold bitter north.

I need my gaming fix while I am gone (while the wife plays cards with the in laws). Cards don't cut it, and I really don't care for portable gaming either - so I need a friggin console. Already got a 36" Wega down there, so I am set as far as a TV goes.

Any recommendations on the best of the best carrying case for the Xbox?

Just stick it in a suitcase and pack soft stuff around it, like pants and socks etc.

I wouldn't buy a special carrying case for one thing.

Alternatively, it might fit in a fat-ass laptop bag.

I came into this thread to post a pic like this but the first reply already did. GAF fucking rules.

Now all we need is the Penny-Arcade strips of the hugeass Xbox and controllers.....

Just find a old back-pack or a duffle bag and wrap the xbox in a towel to protect it from bumps.

Do that and you'll save at least $600.

Yeah, so the idiots who load the plane can throw it all over the place. No, I don't think so. It's gonna have to be able to be a carry on.

I'm looking for serious replies like Kato provided. Not juvenille kiddy BS. I know the Xbox is big and heavy. That joke is old. Find some new material.

Sorry, but it is :lol

Sorry, that's your opinion. OK, jokes over. Does anyone have a carrying case that they own and like?

I'm looking at this one

I don't think the response is all that unique to GAF. In fact, it's pretty predictable and would be found just about anywhere.

OK mr pissy pants.

Where did I say check it? Stick it in a trolley bag with socks etc and carry it on.

And that joke is so old, its back in fashion again.

No, I really don't care to do that. I want a case designed for it.

I have the seocnd caselisted above. It works out preety well. I keep my modded XBox in there for travleing to LAN partys. I like the first pic above though. I need to get one of those.

And despite the funny pics I have yet to get a herniated disc from lugging my XBox around. ;)

This man speaks the truth.

But, if you're going to be checking it instead of carrying it on, I would use a plain cardboard box and pack it on all sides with rolled up newspaper. Pack it up TIGHT, so that when you shake the box, nothing moves. Make sure the Xbox is not flush with any one side (i.e. newspaper should be between the xbox and the cardboard box on all 6 sides). This should give your Xbox enough padding to survive being thrown around by the baggage handlers.

The made-for-Xbox carrying cases are designed for lugging your system across town, not international flights.
