Big comic sale at Comixology (Image, Dark Horse, others)

https://www.comixology.com

To celebrate NYCC Comixology is running a 50% off on a few publishers with a coupon for each. Not as good as the marvel Amazon sale but this covers more publishers. Also I have noticed for Image at least that it is better to buy single issues than the collection for some of their comics.

Got the available volumes of Harrow Country and the first few of The Goon, from Dark Horse

From Image, thinking of getting the first volumes of Black Monday Murders and Extremity.

Any recent good horror series from Image?

How are Divinity, Bloodshot, Harbinger, and XO Manowar? Never read a Valiant comic, any one considered the best introduction?

I got into the universe with X-O Manowar and he's now one of my favorite superheroes, but I find it more common for readers to jump in through Bloodshot or Harbinger. Those titles launched the universe, so I'd say just pick which one has the premise you prefer and try it out since their all effective intros to Valiant's world. They're all ace however, glad to see more people interested in Valiant.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Essential Spider-Man? I got the Ultimate run and Kravens last hunt in the last Marvel sale. What is recommended beyond?

I can't view this at work, can anyone see if the IDW Transformers stuff is part of this? Between the two IDW Transformers Humble Bundles there's a weird gap of like 13 or so issues in-between, now might be the time to get them if they're on sale.

Yup. Actually the IDW stuff is even cheaper, thinking of TMNT myself.

Here is some Image stuff I enjoy:

Saga
Manifest Destiny
Lazarus
Birthright
Black Science
East of West
Seven to eternity
Wicked + divine

Divinity is pretty standalone, at least the first series.

I like pretty much all of their books and while they share the same universe, they don’t overlap too much. I’d recommend going with Harbinger -> Harbinger Wars -> Imperium. You will be exposed to other characters in these books but my experience was that you understand them and their motivations pretty well, even when you haven’t read their books.

If you’re lucking for a fun book, Van Lente’s Archer and Armstrong was pretty enjoyable.

Any recommendations for something that's a completely self-contained (over a few volumes) story with an ending? Something like Locke & Key or Y The Last Man (more like the former, though: Y meandered a lot, and the ending wasn't very satisfying IMO)...

Anything that’s good really. Pretty open regardless of genre, I’ve read stuff all over.
