Billy from The Game Chasers passed away

According to his cousin Chris, Billy blacked out at his home and when he woke up he couldn't use his legs. They took him to the ER and found a brain tumor.

They had a plan to start treating it with chemo/radiation to hopefully shrink it so surgery could be done but Billy took a turn for the worse before that could be started and passed away last night. The crazy thing is all of this took place within 3 weeks.

This is a huge lose for the retro game community and I'm sure there's fans on here that started retro game collecting because of TGC me included and I just wanted to share the news for anyone that hasn't seen it.

Rest Easy, Billy.

Have followed his channel since hearing about him on the Allgen Gamers podcast around 2012. There was no show like The Game Chasers during that period in the YouTube gaming community. It was truly TV quality stuff during a time where that type of quality was rare on YouTube.

This sucks, R.I.P

My mom will started the procedures for breast removal surgery before the inevitable cancer manifests. She has done all the diagnosis and exams because two other aunties of mine got diagnosed with it and died from it. The results returned a 99.96% chance of developing it, so we decided to do the procedure before it eventually happens as we are not taking any chances.

It is a costly procedure, but I'm happy we can afford it without impact the family's finances. So it's sad to hear about people losing the battle against cancer as it hits close to home. My heart goes to his family.

Damn, this one hits hard. Their videos always cheered me up and made me laugh and I still put their playlists of Game Chaser seasons on in the background while working.

So awful, RIP.

It really is scary how fast it can all happen. From personal experience a person can be going through it and things don't look so good. But then they look great, and it sounds like there may be hope but then suddenly it's the worst and they're gone. It can all happen so incredibly fast. I hate it so goddamn much.

Fuck cancer.

Billy posted 3 weeks ago on his youtube, it was a brain tumor and he had surgery. No updates later and now he is gone. Awful. Also they just had a video 2 months ago and he seemed 100%. I do not understand why things like this happen and how fast it happens

So tragic

RIP. Loved the game chasers, fantastic show. Well worth a watch through, seemed like an actual T.V. show rather than the usual youtube style others do.
Fuck dude 😭

RIP

After his last video, it was clear that he wasn't doing well, but I had hoped for a miracle that, unfortunately, didn't happen. My thoughts are with his close friends and family.

Very sad news. The game chasers were fun to watch. It made me think of visiting antique outlets and random garage sales for video games. Even though I don't do that, their show was inspirational and entertaining to watch. Billy seemed like a great person.

Been watching their channel from the beginning. Never knew Billy or Jay personally but I share the same passion for the hobby they do. This hurts. RIP, Billy 😞

I was diagnosed with myxofibrosarcoma this year in my leg. Ultra rare and aggressive.

3 surgeries and currently going through radiotherapy.

It hasn't changed me in the slightest. I feel... Nothing. No fears, no regrets, no self pity. The only hard part was telling my kids so I sprung it on them after dinner.

I've always been off the opinion that you can't worry about things.

Ask me anything if you want
