Thinking about trying this out, especially so if we're getting a female striker. Is the NA guild still active?

I'd rather they make more classes than worry about making sure there is a male/female version of each class. Specially they way they do it where each class is at least a little different and usually even more so with their awakening weapon.

If they want to do a 1:1 where the only difference is gender, great. I really don't need more kuno/ninja, blader/maehwa, witch/wiz.

I bought this last week and I just got suckered in. This is really the first MMORPG I've played seriously. It is a lot less grindy than I thought it would be, thanks to the satisfying combat. I'm already at level 40 with my dark knight, so I've been thinking about just focusing on life skills for now.

Any suggestions on efficient node investment if I want to grind out cooking and trading?

You still have access to exp servers. The grind to 50 is incredibly easy. It grind to 55 is still easy with 56 being slightly tougher. 57 is where you really need to start putting in a few hours per day of buff stacking and efficient grinding. It only gets slower from there.

That said, grinding levels is not even half the grind in the game.
-Grind for cash to buy what you need/want.
-Grind life skills because it saves you time and money in the long run.
-Grind bosses for boss drops.
-Grind contribution points because there is never enough.
-Grind skill points for skills you probably won't use.
-Grind your teeth into fine powder from frustration due to fail bids on items you want in market.

For nodes. It sort of depends where you're at and what amount of CP you have to work with.
Generally speaking, crafting beer from workers can go a long way over time. This is really easy as you only really need some kind of starch which is potato (all around Velia) or wheat (Heidel, Northern Wheat Plantation) or barley etc. The rest of the ingredients you can buy.

Cooking Honey (Alejandro Farm, NW of Heidel) is very useful to have for a number of recipes and you can sell on market very easily too.

Chicken for eggs is popular. Rate of getting eggs is kind of low but for something to get over time it still helps. Farming is more efficient but high CP cost and farms need tending.

Might also be good to try and get a toolshop house and work on cooking utensil. You will need some wood for it depending which one you make.

Both trading and cooking quests help a bit with exp.

Since I recently started trying to make an Epheria sailing boat... I guess I just want to say it might be nice to get a pine wood node early.

There are video guides for efficiency and starting your node empire. I actually think some of it is a bit too much because sometimes I don't know which items I want now and which I want later or not at all. I ended up having a lot of wasted CP gaining materials I didn't need yet and wasn't sure if I should sell them or not. I eventually redid everything as I started getting more into cooking and processing so I focused mostly on those nodes and only switched nodes to stuff when I needed to.

I'd rather they make more classes than worry about making sure there is a male/female version of each class. Specially they way they do it where each class is at least a little different and usually even more so with their awakening weapon.

I sort of agree. The better option would have been to not have classes tied to gender to begin with but I guess they are kind of stuck now.

I'd rather they have more body types. At the moment it looks like they have about 3 for each gender and some of them are rather similar any way.

A female giant type character would be nice too.

Is there some kind of bug with the NPC voices at the moment? They've all stopped talking when I speak to them, as if they're muted. Afaik I've tried everything short of reinstalling the game.

I'm not a fan of MMO at all but the trailer during the Xbox show looked great, especially the combat. Is this a nice "get" for Xbox?

It really depends on how they balance the game, because in it's current state there is absolutely no way the life skill system would work on consoles.

It could be great, could be bad.

I got to Calpheon for the first time and was amazed at the size of it. I think I'm going to spend the next little while doing all these quests in the city to get my contribution points up.

Should I set up shop in Calpheon or stay in the more central Heidel? I'm kind of hooked on the industrial side of this game. Capitalism, ho!

Check out this video for a very quick and easy route to do the daily quests in around 15 minutes. You may need to do some initial quests around these quest givers to unlock them. It only took me about 3 runs to memorize it. Very good for CP.

Depends what you want to do really. I think it's good to have a small base at each main city (Velia, Calpheon, Heidel and a few others) because it helps you expand trade routes and worker gathering materials.

I think Calpheon is a good city to setup shop in but Heidel is probably a bit better in terms of location being more centralised and having several event NPCs starting there.
That said there are reasons for staying around each area.

Going for my second awakening. The 55 grind feels way slower than my first char :(

Also, this tree event... I swear it only gives blue stones lol

If you're solo grinding then some classes are slower due to slower clear speeds or movement. I think Warrior was my slowest 50 to 56 when grinding.

You will take your cron stone and you will like it.

You want to upgrade quality right? So from Blue to Yellow? You need the Weapon Reform Stone. You can get them from the market or from the Refinery (house, worker crafting).
Higher upgrades has a chance to fail and you will want to use higher grade stone to increase chances.

And it's going to be the last one for a good while. This one was more annoying to get than Sorc.

Now the problem is that I can't afford a TRI awakened weapon for the marketplace lol

I'm really enjoying the cooking skill in this game. What are the types of buffs in food that really sell in the marketplace? I'm assuming ones that buff life skills?

If you just want to level, then yes it's fun but can get tedious. I don't know how people can afk fishing, autoloop horse, and doing other things on console though. Unless you buy a console dedicate just for this game. lol

Hey guys how's this game with a gamepad?

I like it a lot, especially for the combat. UI is rough, but I got used to it. Doesn't hurt to have a keyboard and mouse near you, but I've gotten good enough with the gamepad that I dont really have too many issues anymore.

Wearing my missing Bern costume too I think? Ranger is my next target after Striker who is currently 55. :D

oh wow man fuck the desert debuff. I didn't know shit. I mean,it's cool that there's a debuff inside the desert but I went quickly out and the debuff didn't leave. And it lasted like 10 motherfucking minutes, without no vendor to sell anything to heal. Of course I died and of course a lot of gems broke because fuck me. That was too harsh :(

Ah yeah nothing that costume isn't in the shop for some reason. IMO it's the best looking Ranger outfit, although it would be way better without the heels and the holes in the pants lol

I want to level Kunoichi because I liker her awakening weapon but I don't have money to substain more characters lol

Unless you're as crazy as me and explore the desert without any preparation. Never go into the desert without purified water/star anise tea.

So, maybe i need some help. I tried to run this game and i'm stuck on the settings menu. If i try to switch resolution (every res, from 1080p to 4k) the UI (i mean the settings menu and every other menu) becomes impossibile to navigate. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix for this?

How so? Is it unresponsive or is it a size issue?

You can go into settings and adjust UI then tweak size there. If everything is fucked, hit the reset button and then try tweaking to preference from there. If its unresponsive though, I'm not sure how to help.

Yeah, I remember when I was skirting the desert a bit but got hit by the debuff any way and died trying to run back to base.

Actually... I also remember that horrifying guild mission to kill 2000 minotaurs with Minty. I was struggling with the mobs already and the bigger ones could almost 1 shot me in the back so I was being extra careful. I thought I was lagging when I was taking sudden, massive chunks of damage randomly. :\
Horrifying stuff.

I managed to grab both Bern costumes for my Sorc and Warrior. The Warrior one reminds me of Dark Souls armor which is great. Sorceress is one of my favourite costumes but as you said, could do without the heels. I do want that Bern for my ranger but its gone and I never get notices for it either.

I say go for it on the Kun. You can work on the weapon later. A +15 primary is cheap and will last you until 56 any way, no need to go all in when you don't even know if you like her play style on not.

It's a size issue i think, the problem is that i can see the settings menu window but if i move the cursor on it, i can't click anything. Then if i try to move the cursor in some other random part of the screen, something highlights on the menu. It's like the menu is there, somewhere on the screen, but not where i can see it.

Hmmm. I think this happened to me before. I'm not sure what I did that made it go away. I do not that the game doesn't like dual monitors and it can get a bit buggy with that.

You can try to pin point where your UI actually use. Use the highlighed item to gauge what your cursor is pointing at and try to get into the edit UI menu so you can reset it.

You could also try to reload the UI. Simply type /reloadui into the game chat.

I know if I level Kun I'll want to buy a DUO or TRI Aw weapon and I'll broke myself lol (I only could afford a DUO Aw for my Ranger and I hate myself for it lol)

I need to start to focus on getting money or I'll have problems. I'm not sure what to do yet, I'm aimlessly leveling gathering and processing, not very efficiently though lol

Just picked the game up the game last night and got to level 13 on a wizard (I think). Seems really cool so far but very unlike the themepark MMO's I'm used to.

Is there a neogaf guild or is anyone recruiting a friendly chap? :)

Anyone getting frequent crashes lately? It didn't seem this bad when I first started playing 3 weeks ago. It doesn't matter what I'm doing at the time it can just up and quit out, no disconnect or error, it just crashes to desktop.

I always have crashes with this game although they're not that frequent neither it's new from now.

I also have RAM problems. Like even with 8 GB sometimes the game decide to eat it all and Windows ends up shitting it down.

I had this issue as well, but I have 16gb. I ended up fixing this by increasing the size of my windows page file to 5000mb minimum, 10000mb maximum.

Edit: Got a Nouver box!

Hey there, there is a quote to see discord link to Gaf guild in the OP. I won't be on until later today but maybe gin or minty are on to help. We are on NA servers.

Edit.
Missed this reply before.

Does anyone else get really bad lag when using the search function in the marketplace sometimes?

Speaking of the marketplace, are items put up on there only seen in that specific city or is it worldwide?

It's laggy like that for everyone. You can avoid it by clicking into one of the categories on the left first and not searching the entire market at once.

Items sold are server/worldwide, no need to be in a specific city.
