Or is it just one of Adam's balls in my throat?
CCU update: looks like this is it for the morning. Can we update the title to "Black Flag Resynced launches on Steam with 99k CCU and 35% positive reviews"?

Rare and urgently needed W for Ubi.

We haven't done CCU thread for a while right? Let's do it!

It is considered by many to be the best in the series. And to those who do not have it at the top, it's usually quite near it. I'm not surprised.
I'm about to do my part once I get home from work, although I won't be getting it on Steam. I have zero desire for double platform requierement for 1 game.

There's also a big enough crave and a proper lack of pirate action/adventure games overall.

#1 seller doesn't mean much.

It could beat Shadows, but coming right after the sale could restrict it. I'll guess ~50k, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's double that either.

Seems like a good remake, but I also enjoyed Shadows so what do I know.

I enjoyed shadow the first 20-30 hours after that I was done with the game for good. Too repetitive and mission variety was a joke

As for Black Flag, I think the game will be a success. Its a beloved title within the franchise and frankly, it looks really good.

I hope Ubisoft starts putting more effort into making characters and stories more interesting after revisiting this one

I'm not holding my breath for Ubi to improve their writings - the OGs who made AC lore and stories interesting probably have all left. Like I mentioned before, I think good writers are the rarest resource in this industry now.

Modern AC is crazy. The production value and engine tech is unbelievable, and the games are fun. Can't wait to get into this one. I only played a few hours of the original but never really dug into it.

If this sells well, I wonder what lesson Ubisoft will learn from it...
Even if they learn that old ac had much better writing and characters, it's not like they can find good writers just by snapping their fingers.

Most reviews and feedback clearly say that all the new material written by modern ubisoft is trash and out of place which is not hard to believe, and people clearly didnt bought this game for the combat or stealth which are both inferior to other ac games, especially stealth.

This game is selling because it was the last good written ac and the pirate fantasy, they clearly cant do another 10 pirate games and it's not easy to get better writers nowadays :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

They have the answers but not the tools to fix it.

Yo! What's with the 35% positive reviews?? I didn't realized they changed that much with this.

I never played the original. Not sure I'd pick this up, but I'm surprised at that CCU!

Usually early negative steam reviews are about bad performances or some microtransaction shanenigans, no idea what is the case here.

Its only 35% because people crying about the optional cosmetic mtx not because the game is bad. I dont give a fuck.

From skimming through the reviews, people are pissed as there is $85 worth of DLCs on the day of release and there's a 30fps cap on the cutscenes. They expected more from the $10 they paid for the Deluxe Edition.

- Lot's of cosmetic DLC added that is NOT included in the deluxe edition ( around $90 of dlcs, btw some of the dlcs have weapons that HAVE some impact on the gameplay)
- some say the combat is not great
- performance issues

gamers are some of the whiniest babies on planet earth.

Can't wait for mine to arrive in a few days...

Yeah I have to agree on this one

Every single AC has micro transactions, why are people salty over this? Why aren't other AC games with same micro transactions review bombed on Steam too?

Pretty weird
