Rolling Stone review has a major spoiler in it too.

Honestly unless you don't read any or seemingly most of the reviews you're going to find out what the spoiler is. It seems like such an intrinsic part of the movie that you can't discuss the movie without bringing it up.

whoa fuck, that guardian review has a gigantic spoiler that i did not know about.
To be honest, it seems less of a gigantic spoiler and rather similar to how the game Soma handles its plot. In that such details is the basic premise of the story, not some kind of big twist, is revealed early, and the story just moves on from there and explores the ramifications

Oh wow...not going to read any of the reviews, because I want to know as little as possible going in (have only seen one trailer), but it looks like this is going to be pretty awesome. Can't wait to see it! The original is one of my favorites!

That's my feelings too as it seems like it's explored in detail throughout the entire film.

Damn, hype levels rising dangerously fast. I like the first movie but I'm not a super-fan of it, but I love all of Denis' movies so far so really wanna like this.

I absolutely hate the original Blade Runner, but this is some pretty high praise. Anyone review it yet who disliked the original? Torn on whether to see it or not.

Not reading these for fear of spoilers, but any word on Ford's performance? Is he phoning it in or does he appear to actually give a shit about the movie?

I find it surprising how many reviews are praising Ford's work in this.

Oh, lol, great timing.

If you thought Ridley Scott’s original was a genre masterpiece, you’ll find much to appreciate here. But if you’re like me (and Roger Ebert, for what it’s worth) and think the first film offers a barebones story and paper-thin characters, you’ll be disappointed that the extra money and extra running time merely means a more drawn-out mystery with little urgency or momentum.

The Roger Ebert that put Blade Runner on his Great Movies list?

I'm tempering my expectations since now gleaming reviews are coming in. I really love the original (well...directors cut or whatever) and I'm sort of getting fatigued by rehashes and sequels.

Denis Villeneuve is the best motherfucker currently working. If him or Del Toro win the Oscar next year, I think I'm gonna cry like a damn baby.

I wasn't really expecting this to be bad based off the talent behind it but I am so relieved that it's just good but seems great. I'm relieved.

Get dennis working on a Memento sequel stat.

I mean, I guess this is a weird thing to say in a thread about a seemingly excellent Blade Runner sequel.

But I really, really see no reason for a Memento sequel.

Why are people shitting on Ford? He was great, and didn't phone it in, in The Force Awakens, why is it such a shock that he'd also be great here?
