I have a NEC 3500A. I was just wondering where is the cheapest place to pick up some blank dual layer discs (online or brick and mortar)? Also what brands are best?
Ha, good luck with that. Drives are still really picky with DL media and a lot of DL media is generally unreliable. I would get Ritek DL media though, it seems to be supported in all of the firmwares for popular dual layer drives.
Well yes, but u dont have much choice if your gonna be looking for Dual Layer media at this time. Ritek's quality has been on a serious decline for a while.

Meh, R03 DVD+R's work great with my NEC ND-2500A. It's only crappy media if you have a picky drive (i.e. Lite-on). My NEC burns R03's (even revision 1) so well that it doesn't matter. They (NEC) have a superior writing strategy - as does Pioneer and Plextor.
4X Ritek DVD+R's are still RicohJPN, which are on par with Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim. Plus, you can burn them at 8x if you have a good burner (again - NEC, Pioneer, Plextor).

have done about 20 verbatim or so without any issue...
but yeah... even in bulk you are looking at some serious cash still. as far as I know none of the cheapo chinese manufacturers have been approved yet...
