I'm a huge weeb but the worst thing about this industry (as a weebsumer) are the trailers. That didn't tell me anything lol.

Is this a reboot or different story altogether? I loved Bleach but dropped it at a certain point because life happened. Do I need to pick it back up where I left off in order to enjoy this or what?

My bad, should've included a description in the OP. This is the final season of the anime, which got cancelled early years back because Bleach's popularity diminished and the manga was taking too long. The mandatory story arcs you need to see, in order, are:

1. Introduction aka Shinigami Agent
2. Soul Society
3. Arrancar aka Hueco Mundo
4. Fullbringer
5. And the one next October is the finale: Thousand Year Blood War

Everything else is filler. Some of the filler is worth watching, like the Zanpakuto arc where their swords come alive, but most can be skipped.

It's the final arc of the Manga, at least considering what's currently available.

Looks damn good, glad Bleach is back.

Cool I guess, and the visuals look nice. But the final arc was really fucking bad despite having a strong start. Hopefully they take the chance to make some rewriting.

Agreed. IIRC the initial invasion was awesome, some of the best stuff since Soul Society. But when the heroes start the counter offensive, not to mention the squad zero stuff, both the writing and art took a nosedive. The villain is so op and abstract with poorly defined abilities.

My thoughts exactly. I was extremely excited at first, it really felt like Bleach was back after some underwhelming story arcs. But once the counter offensive starts it all went down the drain.
To be fair it felt a bit like Kubo was given a deadline and he had to cram a lot of stuff in a short time. So maybe they can make it salvageable if they expand and rewrite some of it in the anime.

It's continuing on from where it left off, they cancelled the anime before they reached the end of the manga.

Fuck it... there's better shounen out there right now, such as: Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Dr. Stone (debatable) and others...

Thanks for the headsup tho!

Id argue none of those are as good as early Bleach was

Bleach's downfall is a bit tragic and more to do with Kubo Tites failing health than anything.

The usual story of a long running weekly manga if you're not a freak like One Piece's Oda

Didn't they do a new arc where

That hell is where they have to send dead captains because they're too powerful? Wait, what about Gin, the blind one and the hollow captain. God I hope Toonami skips Bleach which was great in the early episodes but completely fell apart later on. Everything that made it interesting he threw away.

Bleach was my fav of the big 3 back in the day, glad to see its gonna get finished. To bad the fullbringer arc was so weak and all the filler killed the anime for me.

Really liked the show, can't wait to see how it moves further. The whole king key was incredible interesting and a shame it never went further from there.

I quit when it was revealed there was a whole quincy town across the street in soul society
It was a slog for me to finish the manga, I wasn't reading it every week along with OP/Naruto like I usually do. Quincy arc was that bad for me. I couldn't even watch the Anime knowing how badly the manga had gotten.

I liked this guy the most

Everybody had there fancy special powers. this guy just got a eye patch that limits his power lamo.

Couple small updates:

1. The anime will feature new stuff not in the manga. This was expected. Kubo is directly involved.

2. Rumors are circulating that this new season might actually be on Disney+ instead of Crunchyroll.

Man October can't come soon enough.

Bleach deserves an outstanding farewell, manga is fantastic and so was the anime until certain point.

This is the anime that really made me watch anime consistently.

Previously I only watch whatever anime dubbed in my language on the local tv network or on Toonami.

It feels good to finally have the ending it deserves.

I know it'll be on HorribleSubs for sure :messenger_winking_tongue:

EDIT: nvm I guess they finally bit the bullet, I didn't know.

I don't know if you're familiar with the story in the final arc, but he plays an important part and shows major growth and character development.
