Wanted to give this game a shout out since it seems like it’s really going under the radar.
Available for PS4/5, XB, PC and Switch. Currently on sale at most online shops
Bloomtown is a narrative driven, turn based RPG that takes elements of the Persona series (socializing, time management and demon taming) and coats it with some retro paint and then sets it in a world that feels like a mix of Earthbound and Stranger Things.
You play as Emily, a sweet, (and a bit precocious) young girl who, along with her younger brother Chester, get sent to their grandfather’s for the Summer after their mother kicks their father out of the house.
What starts off as doing a couple simple errands for gramps soon has you learning that Bloomtown isn’t exactly Onett circa 19XX. Children are disappearing and after a solving a small riddle Emily finds herself in the neighborhood treehouse being whisked away to the Underside, a dark world where demons reside and can be captured to use their own powers against them.
If you’ve played any Persona game, you will immediately notice similarities. Each member of your party has their own personal demon, along with a second one they can add if it’s captured. Demons can be analyzed during battle to find weaknesses, and can also be shot from a distance with guns (with limited ammo).
When you aren’t dungeon crawling trying to find out why kids are missing, you will be spending your days working a part time job, going to the movies, reading, fishing, hanging out with members of your crew, gardening and harvesting for cooking, completing sidequests and raising those all important social stats – Guts, Charm, Proficiency and Smarts.
Im already 20 hours in have been really enjoying my time with it. The game can get pretty damn dark at times and has a surprising amount of..swearing which totally took me off guard. But I dig it. Also special shout out to the OST which I can’t find anywhere, but thankfully tracks are on YouTube.

Im sure some here will definitely enjoy it. Give it a shot or add it to the backlog!
