Blue Origin explodes during test

Sad Fire GIF by Showmax

And holy shit, how distant is this camera to only hear the explosion after seeing for a long time?

Approx 6-7 miles if it takes around 30ish seconds (can't say exactly as I'm not sure if the footage starts right at the explosion but looks like that may have already happened)

This doesn't just delay THIS mission. This delays ALL missions.

The pad itself is now destroyed in a fireball during a ground test. There is no backup pad. There is no Plan B.

I think Amazon's answer to Starlink depends on New Glenn to launch its satellites..

Holy shit, yeah that launchpad is obliterated. Kinda amazing no injuries but I guess they clear out quite a perimeter for these things. I wonder how far some of that debris got.

I wonder how much liability amazon has for folks who saw this and thought WW3 had just started then went and did something dumb.

I'm assuming they heavily publicize launches ahead of time? Or folks living around there are used to this stuff to some degree?

This was using a USSF pad in Cape Canaveral, so I assume people in the area are aware and used to launches, although maybe not spectacular explosions like this.

Amazon has nothing to do with Blue Origin.
