Awesome game; used to play it at lunch in the grounds at Nintendo Europe's HQ when I worked there way back when. In fact, still got it on my game shelves along with newer DS and 3DS stuff.

Only ever played the second one and not all that much because the sun sensor was kinda awkward. In the central European winter it picks up almost nothing.

I bought the second one and never got very far because the amount of sun I could get to hit the sensor always sucked. Still have the box and everything in mint condition.

Well I've got good news for you. 2 can actually be exploited to beat the main game with barely any actual sunlight by finding Sunny Cogs in the first undead subdungeon available before even getting to San Miguel which you can farm to have an endless amount of items that can give you 2 bars of sunlight.
