Borderlands was a low risk movie, it would impress more people on something like a streaming service, I think movies in theaters have a way where they are important than others, Borderlands veterans obviously have different opinions.

It can't be worse than Monster Hunter movie…right? I still want to know who's brilliant idea was to turn MH in to isakai?

They could just made movie that takes place with original setting without all that modern US military nonsense.

How do you do Borderlands without it being rated R? PG13 is a joke. This serious is violent and full of adult humor.

It has Kevin Hart so that's an instant pass.

The girl who plays Tina didn't want to play the part as Tina but instead based it on Harley Quinn and they went ahead and put that info out like it was a good thing and that they are proud of it. Fucking stupid.

Jack Black was completely unnecessary and the actual Clap Trap voice actor would have been great.

This is my favorite shooter series and I am not even interested in pirating this shit bag of a movie.

No idea how they thought this was a good idea. Anyone who actually likes Borderlands is going to stay far away, and anyone low IQ enough to be entertained doesn't even know what Borderlands is.

Nah, middle school humor works just fine in PG13.

And I say that as a fan of Borderlands humor.
Did you play the same series as the rest of us? The number of dicks jokes, sex talk, innuendo, and graphic violence does not translate to PG-13 and takes some authenticity out of the adaptation to the screen surely.

I just feel sorry for Cate Blanchett, she's a great actress and shouldn't be in such trash.
To be fair It's not like she had a gun to her head...She could've said no.

Instead she chose this crap script.Or well her agent...in which case she should fire him/her yesterday.

Genuinely interested in seeing this. Yes, I like garbage video game movies. Yes, I enjoyed monster hunter. Now leave me alone.

Borderlands as a game is, in my opinion, best experienced with character dialogue turned all the way down. That is not something that bodes well for a movie

I've played borderlands and I really do remember it being pg-13 but skirting the line as close as possible levels of humor. You can get away with pretty heavy innuendo and implied violence in pg-13, you just can't say certain words.

I genuinely can't believe this movie got made. So many reasons why this series makes no sense to make a movie out of and I have no idea with how many people that are involved in bringing a movie to market that it actually went the distance. Beyond baffling.

Why not just make an original movie? This tells you what these moviemaker types think about people who play games: that we'll gobble up whatever they produce because [insert game franchise here] is being adapted into a movie.

They think we're lowest common denominator.

Honestly sounds like what you get if you remove the gameplay from borderlands, series has never had a good writing.
I agree. To me, everything non-gameplay was a self-aware bit of slapstick humour designed to get a chuckle between bits of gameplay. It didn't take itself seriously, but at first glance you might think it did.

That was always going to be difficult to make work as a movie, and when someone actually try it you realise it wasn't worth the effort.

This sounds more like a write off or laundering operation than an attempt at some form of art or entertainment.

I don't know what people were expecting, it's being helmed by Eli Roth, the man has only made one watchable movie in his entire long winded career.

Yep fancy that, a shit game series gets a shit movie. Was anyone expecting different though? With all the cringe in Borderlands its no surprise how awful a movie of it would be.

I think I made it less than 10 mins into MH before I noped out. The trailer looked awful and I gave it a shot just because I loved Tony Jaa in Ong Bak and The Protector, but yeah that was straight up, no redeeming value garbage tier movie.

Milla and her husband gotta stop buying video game licenses only to ruin them.
