No need for lots of details I guess but I'm in Miami later in June/early June and looking for general advice on things to do.

I'm staying in the Viceroy which seems nice but having only transitted through before I have no idea what to see and do.

Requirements are:
An "event" (concert, theatre etc. but as I don't know exact dates yet I'll just say mid June to early July)
A nice restaurant; cost is kind of irrelevant seeing as I've never eaten in Miami before and
Shopping! Wanna pick up a new lense for my DSLR.

Rubbish OP so do your usual GAF and just suggest what you like.

Good question slider...

: (

A desperate bump. Going between 10 - 15 June and... umm, that's all I have to add.

Well, you're in luck because Miami is right in between the gorgeous Everglades National Park and Biscanye National Park. If you're willing to do some driving, Big Cypress National Preserve is just north of Everglades. Dry Tortugas National park, while quite a LONG way away, has just become a lot more accessible as well, so if you have a lot of money and time, then check that out. If not, try to spend some time in Everglades and Biscanye.

EDIT: And no I'm not going to suggest a concert, shopping center or restaurant because you can shop in every American city, go to a restaurant in every American city and see a concert in every American city. You cannot see what the national parks and preserves listed above have to offer anywhere else on the planet. When you go on a vacation, I suggest you plan things that are unique to the place you're going.

Thanks Bentendo and you make a great point.

I only asked for those things cos I'm taking my gf for her birthday but didn't know if I'd be able to reschedule a shitload of meetings and visits to make it for her actual birthday.

I'll Goolge some of those suggestions though. Sound great.

Unfortunately, there isn't really much to do in Miami, other than shopping and partying.....which seems to be what you are looking for :lol

For shopping, I don't know really, it depends on what you are looking for. Not only that, but there are stores every where down there. But I usually recommend going to the Aventura (more high end) or Sawgrass (huge, a lot of variety, you are likely to find what you are looking for) malls

As for partying, at nights, you ll find parties EVERYWHERE.....but usually the biggest gatherings tend to be around Ocean Drive and....a bit more up north, Riverfront.

As for eating, I don't eat much down there, so I just stick to the Las Olas section.

Whilst sometimes it's great to have your expectations confounded sometimes it sucks so I appreciate the comments.
