Dogs can sniff out the coronavirus with a striking 94 percent accuracy rate — raising the possibility of instant tests at sporting events and airports, according to a new study.

Canine handlers trained eight dogs from Germany’s Armed Forces to discern human saliva infected with COVID-19 from healthy saliva, according to the study, which was lead by the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover and the Hanover Medical School.

Researchers then set up samples from 1,000 people at random, ordered the dogs to pinpoint the infected ones — and found the animals were accurate 94 percent of the time, according to the study.

Thats right cat people, Dogs rule and y'all drool. Not only will they smell other dogs butts, but they will sniff out the Corona.

My old dog, not a chance could he be trained for this. He never sniffed out treats we hid even.

My current dog, she'd handle this training I reckon. Pupper has a killer sniffer.

Catch yes, spread so far no.

There was a story about the first dog dying from CV the other day.

All though it must be pretty rare or else we would have 100's of dogs dying from CV. With their noses and sniffing everything in sight along with licking and eating anything they can almost every dog in the world should have this thing. But yet there has only been 1 death so far (At least in the US).

As far as I know the tests are not 100% accurate, and we really aren't even sure how accurate the tests are, as it's thought that the common cold or other ailments could cause false positives. It will probably be a year before we have any real science on Covid 19 and anything that sounds sensational regarding Covid 19 I will dismiss as fake news.

They're probably using the "real" covid tests, the ones they use to test the president and ceos, not the one they're using for the peasants like us
