Yeah, The Walking Dead was really rushed to meet it's premiere in season 1. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.

Bad Decisions Why AMC's Breaking Bad beats Mad Men, The Sopranos, and The Wire. (Grantland)

I, of course, disagree with premise, and indeed all the arguments, of this article. :/

Pretty solid analysis here as to what makes Walt different from those other protagonists, though how he takes that to mean the show itself is superior is beyond me - particularly when in the case of The Wire, you have McNulty who is probably the most inconsequential protagonist in TV history. Walt is a different character and so the show is, naturally, presenting him differently.

Continuing my partial rewatch with "4 Days Out".

EDIT: Yup, another great episode. Lots of good scenes with Walt and Jesse in the desert, plus Walt freaking out at the end once he's told he's in remission. :O

Now that I've finally caught up I can finally look in this thread.

I don't know what the general opinion is but I think Season 2 was definitely better than Season 3. Mandala is the best episode for sure in my eyes, although there were a few great ones in Season 3.

My friend saw the primo and only revealed that I was wrong about my prediction as far as what I was convinced was going to happen. Which is awesome news.

Don't want to read spoilers... how good are the reviews?
The second one reads like it was written by a four year old.

I thought I had a pretty good idea, then one of the reviews proved me wrong without actually saying what happens.

Announcing our first Kindle single: “Buy The RV, We Start Tomorrow": The A.V. Club’s Guide To Breaking Bad
by Keith Phipps July 14, 2011

Like the A.V. Club? Have a Kindle or a device with a Kindle app? Like Breaking Bad? Map those questions out on a Venn diagram and if you fall in the overlap we’ve got something you’ll love. “Buy The RV, We Start Tomorrow": TheA.V. Club’s Guide To Breaking Bad, is our first venture into the world of Kindle singles, Kindle’s bargain-priced eBooks. But don’t let the $2.99 price tag fool you: Buy The RV contains a lot of material for your money, including past interviews with Bryan Cranston, Vince Gilligan, and Bob Odenkirk and every episode review from the show’s first three seasons. All that plus a new intro from The A.V. Club’s resident Breaking Bad expert Donna Bowman and a great cover illustration from Danny Hellman.

We hope you like it. It’s our first try at this and so far it’s gone pretty smoothly—though apologies in advance for the erratic use of italicization. If it takes off, we’d love to package together some more themed content as A.V. Club Kindle singles. Have any suggestions? Fire away.

yeah wtf. I was looking at the rest of the peoples' faces and it's like they sense absolutely no sexual tension there at all.

We’re Watching the Season Premiere of BREAKING BAD - What Are You Doing on Sunday?
There's good television and then there's great television. And then there's BREAKING BAD, which belongs in a category all its own. With the greatest story-arcs, characters, writing, acting, direction, and plot twists on the air right now, BREAKING BAD is must-watch TV.

We're so excited it's finally coming back for Season 4. At the end of last year, protagonist meth cook/dealer Walter White (3-time Emmy award winner Bryan Cranston) was pretty much dead. That he lives to lead another season is a very kind thing that the TV gods have done for us. Thankfully, he's saved by his partner in crime, the brilliantly compelling Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), and hopefully they'll be joining forces to become the hardest, creepiest, most scientifically-meticulous drug peddlers in all of New Mexico.

What will happen in Season 4? Will Walt get his family back? Will the DEA crack down on Gus's laundromat/meth lab operation? Will Walter and Jesse finally just kiss already and get it over with? We don't know, but we're eager to find out. So we'll be watching the Season 3 finale and the Season 4 premiere at South Lamar and Lake Creek this Sunday at 9pm. Every week after that, we’ll be watching last week’s episode followed by the new episode, recorded on DVR so we can fastforward through commercials.

Join us, this Sunday and every Sunday after that for a BREAKING BAD TV Party at Lamar and Lake Creek. Admission is free, but you can guarantee yourself a seat by purchasing a $5 food and beverage voucher at this link. Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis.

I'll be at this. If you're in Austin, be there or be square!

- Maureen Ryan: 'Breaking Bad' Returns at the Top of Its Game *some minor spoilers*
Whatever doubts I had about this show in the past, it has everything calibrated just right now. I have come to enjoy the show's measured pace and its refreshing lack of jumpy editing. Like 'Mad Men,' this show knows when to let itself breathe and when to let moments settle in.

The bleakness I found difficult to take in early seasons is still at the core of 'Breaking Bad'; this is not a show in which there's anyone to root for, per se. But in season 3, the show perfected its approach to good old-fashioned suspense, added some terrific characters to its great core cast and its queasy moral quandaries became ever more compelling and addictive.

At this point, it's just not possible to look away.

The last few weeks have been the hardest part of this wait. It was fine for the rest of it, but now that it's so close, time has dragged to a near standstill :(

You've had it much worse than me! I only started watching this show 2 weeks ago... and only watched the last episode today. I already can't wait anymore.

And I can't begin to imagine waiting a week for an episode

It gets easier. The fourth season of Mad men was the first one I watched as they aired.

Read this, not bad.

Been slowly re-watching season 3. Can't fuckin' wait until Sunday.

In ep 3 of Season 3, to point out a moment that agrees with Chuck - Walt's in the house, Skylar says get out or she'll call the cops, he says "Phone's right there". Definitely not the same Walter from the beginning of the series.

So Comcast decided they weren't ready to put cable into my new house yesterday, and instead wait until next week. So it looks like I'm going to miss the season premiere. Sucks too because to be honest this is probably the most hyped for a new season of a television I've ever been.
