Breaking Bad - Season 4 - Sundays on AMC

Moving on to "One Minute" - such a brutal episode. One of the cousins is almost drowned as a kid, Hank beats the crap out of Jesse, Jesse's "what happens next" speech from the hospital bed, and that's only the first ten minutes.

EDIT:
- Ha ha, I forgot about the gun dealer talking about meeting up with a girl to pee on her.
- Stunning work from both Dean Norris and Aaron Paul this episode.
- They lay it on pretty thick in the last scene, but it's so well shot and edited that it worked for me.

Heh, just went back and watched the pilot. It's very easy to forget exactly where Walt begins.

Funny note, I am watching the Ep after One Minute, the EMT that takes Hank into the Emergency Ward is the same EMT that attended to Walt in the pilot when he fainted at the car wash.

Guys, want to apologise for that post yesterday. It was about midnight local time for me and I'd been at work since 8 in the morning so I was overly tired and didn't realise it could be interpreted as spoilers.

Sorry again to anyone who was spoiled by me, I feel pretty shitty!

- Matt Zoller Seitz @ Salon.com: "Breaking Bad's" 10 best moments (slideshow)
I spend a lot of time talking about TV with friends. I've noticed that in discussions of "Breaking Bad," maybe more than any other current drama, the sentences tend to start with phrases like, "And what about that moment where ..." Walter White's troubling journey from cancer-stricken schoolteacher to feared crystal meth dealer on "Breaking Bad" is one of the most remarkable tales in the still-young history of cable drama, and more so than on most series, that journey is expressed in a series of perfectly shaped, unnervingly powerful moments. Here are my 10 favorite "Breaking Bad" moments.

I'm sorry but the mercury fulminate moment is not number 8, it's definitely number 1 or 2 (along with stay out of my territory).

Writer seems kind of pretentious all the way through, confirmed by his WTF choice of number 1.

the list didn't include my personal favourite scene: the end of Half Measure.

"Run."

otherwise, pretty good list. but I agree with the above poster, mercury fulminate should be much higher on the list.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one, and what about the ending of One Minute? And the tense scene in the RV in Sundown?

And this guy's trying to tell me that a conversation about paintings is better than those... I can see the credit of that scene but come on

Those awesome cooking scenes from the RV definitely needed to be included. God damnit, so many awesome moments in this show. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Am I imagining it by the way or did Gus' accent change somewhere halfway through Season 3? Before I don't think it had the Spanish tones to it that it does now

- Esposito gazes into his past

Quick article with Giancarlo Esposito talking about the inspiration for Gus.

Think I'm going to watch "Fly" and "Full Measure" before the premiere. I might watch "Half Measures", too.

Half-Measures was a great episode. Maybe I'll do a double dip and watch both Half and Full Measures.

Sseriously, i re-watched Half Measure yesterday and what a fantastic episode.
Mike's "no more half measures"speech as awesome as hell. And, of course, there's the last scene.

I know its been discussed to death but I still think Walt is portrayed in a likeable manner. I dunno, i know the show runners say otherwise and what not, but I just cannot hate the man.

I know. I was talking about a rewatch before the season 4 premiere, I've already saw (and loved) both episodes.

I knew what you meant. But still, those two are a package deal I think.

god damnit

for some dumb reason I thought I had AMC available...since I've only seen Breaking Bad and Mad Men on dvd/digital downloads, I thought I was all ready for the new season. Turns out I actually need a cable box/digital cable to watch tomorrow, and no time warner offices are open on Sunday :/

damn I feel stupid

im re-watching season 1 and its just crazy that this show basically took NO TIME to get into a grove. i mean from episode 1 season 1 this show has been quality.

can't wait for tomorrow night!

So, pretty interesting that a lot of these S4 interviews keep referring to Walt's trajectory as headed towards
being a Drug King
. I guess I honestly never saw it. I really did think all the moves he made were in the service of his deluded sense of familial obligation and survival. Never really struck me
as that calculated. Either way I guess that's where S4 is headed. Glad I'm not Gus.

Rewatching "Fly" tonight. Fantastic episode - Cranston's physical comedy at the beginning, the back and forth between Jesse-Walt (both verbal and physical), camerawork, editing, Walt's "perfect moment" speech, the ladder, really just everything. So good.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.

Not trying to start this argument again, but I don't really understand why some people don't like this episode. Like you said, it just contains so much of what makes the series great, in a very concentrated form. Not many other shows could pull it off, but with Walt and Jesse, it's perfect.

Anyway, I can't believe it's almost here! After last season ended, when we learned that the show wouldn't be back until this summer, it felt like such a long wait. Well, all that time pretty much flew by — it's scary how much faster time starts to pass as you get older.

Watching the last three episodes to get a bit caught up for tomorrow.

I was planning on going through the whole series but that failed. Hopefully this is enough to refresh me.

The last two episodes of Season 3 is probably the best TV drama ever. Or at least in recent years.

Tonight!

I'm so torn. I don't know whether to watch Breaking Bad or another episode of Falling Skies.

Because it doesn't push the story forward at all.

I liked the episode myself, but it's a textbook filler episode in a series that never did filler prior to it so I think it's pretty clear why some didn't like it.

It's all about the characters. If it wasn't for Fly then the events that occur in the final two episodes wouldn't have been nearly as impactful as they were.
